The tight grip on her ankle didn't scare her as much as the dangerous fall she took on the steps that lead upstairs. She could have broken her neck and damaged other parts while being dragged back down to the bottom. The entire room was filled her terrified scream and the cries of her baby brother. Roman was going to kill her. She wished someone would hear the commotion and send help. She wished her sister or her grandmother was here. This must have been the monster her grandmother saw, she warned her to be careful but what did Morgan do? Fucked the shit out of the bastard and almost fell in love with him. Roman didn't let go of her foot until Morgan was close enough to kick the him right in his ugly face with the other making him stumble back with a grunt.

Yes! Morgan silently cheered as she took the opportunity to crawl away from him on her stomach using her elbows to inch her closer to safety. Her ribs and chest hurt because of the fall but she fought through it. She couldn't stop, not now, not when she realized that she had too much to live for. Her inner thoughts were interrupted by her a deadly kick to her body causing air to leave her lungs. Morgan knew he did that with a lot of force because she felt something break or burst, she didn't know which. As she struggled to recover from the hard blow, Morgan felt her hair being gripped tightly, nearly pulling it out from the root. Her hand gripped his wrist to pry him off but he held her firmly. He was so strong and the other worldly grunts made her shiver as she struggled against him. A blood-curdling scream tore from her as she felt like a thousand knives stabbing her shoulder. It was until she felt warm liquid running down the mounds of her breasts and back along with the gluttonous slurp of a pig that she realized Roman bit her and was drinking her blood. Morgan tried and failed to lift her hand to fight him off but she felt so weak, too weak. Suddenly she felt his mouth retract from her shoulder and her body fell in a heap to the hard floor.

Morgan never had the sweet yet savory taste of revenge on her tongue before but it was far better than she expected and she yearned for more. The creature she once knew as Roman fell on hands and knees beside her body and within her line of sight so she could see it regress back to normal, to his human form. His fist dented her floor as her blood was regurgitated and spewed all over it with a howl. He was in agony. Morgan hated that a tiny piece of her that still yearned to comfort him even though he attacked her.

"Disgusting!" his voice was scabrous and hoarse as he wiped the remaining blood from his lips.

Then just in a split second, he vanished like he was never there. She did it, he was gone. Mercer was still crying and Morgan knew she had to get to him to keep him calm. Her arm stretched in his direction but he was too far away and she was losing blood too quickly, still she had to try. With the remaining strength she had left, Morgan only moved an inch in his direction before the room got blurry and spun in circles. Her eyelids felt heavy, she just wanted to rest them for a little while before she got to Mercer. Morgan didn't fight when the darkness welcomed her with open arms. What blissful peace.

The warm liquid was irritating. She felt it on her lips, on her eyes and even in her nose. Morgan wanted it to stop, to leave her in the darkness where it was cold and silent. It was safe. Was she dreaming? Her tingling nerves shouldn't have been possible, she was dead. The scorching pain in her right shoulder was enough to jolt her wide awake with a terrified shout. The position in which Lourdes cradled her limp body chafed the gaping wound that alien bastard left, prompting tears to fall from her eyes. She was freezing. Her body trembled from the blood loss and she almost ground her teeth into dust. Morgan couldn't feel her hands and feet and the thought of never using them again brought on a greater fear than she imagined.

"You're alive! Jesus Christ, Morgan what happened?" the frantic question spilled from her sister's lips as she continued weeping.

Morgan couldn't answer. Her throat felt so sore and dry like she'd been stuck in the wilderness for days. How was she alive? The last thing she remembered- Mercer!
