I've missed Roman, haven't you?

The silence was deadly as Roman entered the great hall like he owned it. The music had ceased and Morgan didn't notice the two women on his arms or the third one lagging behind when the doors opened because all could see was him. Every single person in that room was captivated by her man. Her man? Yeah right! The butterflies in her stomach said otherwise because she was oddly excited to see him, to see that he was okay and not dead even though the last time they were together he tried to kill her. His features were the same, nothing had changed and his lovely scent attacked her nose and infiltrated her body even though he was far away. He didn't even glance in her direction or anyone else's. No, he was too proud to acknowledge anyone else because all that mattered was him.

Servants scurried all over to literally acquire a separate table for him and his escorts to dine. They carefully removed his coat and gave the quartet better, more comfortable chairs to sit on. They were treating the bastard like a god, what was it about him that made people fall at his feet? Did they know about his real powers too? Morgan doubted they did but his aura was dangerous and everyone in the room could tell that behind his magnificent face something very evil lurked. She looked around the entire room to see that she wasn't the only one bewitched by Roman, he had that effect on all who saw him. You craved him but he was untouchable, unattainable. Even her mother was fascinated. The only one who didn't care about Roman's presence was Mercer whose loud baby babble echoed in the hall and broke the trance that held everyone silent and still.

Mignon cleared her throat to reset the atmosphere in the hall then brought out other entertainers as the feast continued on to its second main course. The wine flowed and the food kept coming until everyone was full except Roman. His table was towards the back of the hall and the servants brought him the whole menu but he never ate, not even a nibble, only his escorts had their fill. In fact, he'd been reading a blank covered book from the moment he sat down at the table without ever lifting his head. His straight hair was pushed back so Morgan had a clear view of his face. All she could think about were the times when his lips were on hers, as rough as though he may have been with her. She looked away in shame quickly. Those memories were in another life, he rejected her and moved on and so had she. She had no more room in her minuscule heart for hurt, her mother had given her enough of that.

The dinner dragged on endlessly and the babe in Morgan's arms became more restless, but found joy in pulling hard on the tendrils that framed her face with his strong fists. When that seemed to bore him, he turned to her earrings and the crystals on the bust of her dress. He smelled like heaven, she had missed that fresh scent that all babies had. Mignon stood again to extend her gratitude to her visitors and Morgan stood with Mercer to join after the Queen gave her a warning glance. They had to put up the united front like she wanted.

"My honoured guests, I have invited you into my home to eat and drink with me and I am thrilled that you are all here partaking in the festivities. For over thousand years we have remained allies and will continue to do so against our common enemy, the vampires!"

The room erupted in cheer at the thought of keeping up the ongoing war. It was absolutely ridiculous in Morgan's eyes. Lives were being lost unnecessarily because of Mignon's pride when proper leadership and a solid plan was all that was needed to win the fight against the vampires.

"We simply request your strongest soldiers to helps us on the frontlines of the battle because victory is at hand, I can feel it . But for tonight, we will sate our needs and take our pleasures, let's feast and fuck and drink to our hearts content for tomorrow we shall bathe in blood! To the Underworld!"
