The waitress had returned with their drinks and Morgan took the first sip. She was thrown into cotton candy paradise. Her liquor was sweet to the taste but there was a hint of something sour, probably lemon juice that added a bit of flare to it. Morgan's taste buds danced as she swirled the cold cocktail in her mouth, it was the best thing she'd ever have the pleasure of drinking.
Although the drink had already begun working on her, there was a burning question at the forefront of her brain that she had to ask the gentleman who sat watching everyone around them.
"So... if I were the spawn of an angel and a demon, what then? What would you do? Would you hand me over to be slaughtered?" She turned and asked him.
Morgan hoped with everything inside her that Seven would say what she wanted to hear. She wanted him to be different from the others, just like she was. His brows furrowed when he looked at her. He looked at the tumbler glass in his hand with the same expression then quickly downed all the liquid contents in one swallow. Seven took Morgan by surprise when he cupped her jaw and leaned in to kiss her. It was unexpected but she allowed it, in fact she liked it so much that she closed her eyes and kissed him back. The strong liquor he had been drinking lingered on his lips and the princess drank him in. He gave her a sweet peck on her lips before he pulled away.
"I don't care what you are. You're more than I could have ever imagine and I can't even fathom the thought of betraying you." he said in a low voice.
His words were intense and the same ones she wished she could hear from another mouth, however she'd accept this. She would accept Seven. She liked him so why not see where this could go? They were both adults who could make their own choices and all who opposed them could eat a fucking bullet. Morgan made the bold move and kissed him harder this time and Seven was quick to accept her affection.
Morgan's body suddenly went rigid. It felt like electricity had taken over every molecule that made her up. She pulled away instantly from Seven which made him look at her with worry. What was that?
"Are you alright Morgan?"
"I'm fine." Morgan tried to give a reassuring smile and that seemed to appease Seven for now.
The pair sat a little closer together now as they looked from the dancers on the poles to the party happening below them. The other exclusive guests in the VIP room drinking at the bar and made small talk with each other. Morgan's eyes landed on the other booth placed on the next side of the room.
The dim light had shrouded the guests but somehow she was still able see their faces. There was a man waving to her but she didn't wave back. Morgan squinted her eyes and realized that it was Kade. His shimmering lips gave him away. If he was there then that meant Roman was right beside him. Morgan wished she was wrong but she made out his large figure with his legs crossed and holding what appeared to be a cigar. He was hiding in the darkness where the light could barely find him.
Kade handed him something, in the shape of a cigarette. It wasn't until Roman leaned forward to reveal himself that Morgan saw the white powder surrounded by pills on their table. They were doing heavy drugs. Roman inhaled a thick, long line which was enough to put down two elephants before he wiped his nose and took a swig of his clear drink. He was concealed in darkness again and Morgan had never been more appalled. No wonder he was batshit crazy, he was a fucking junkie!
To say Morgan was disappointed was an understatement, she didn't want to be anywhere he could possibly be. She wanted to be free, to be with someone who wasn't ashamed of her and starting in that moment, she would seize her freedom.
"Hey, Seven?"
"Yeah?"
"Let's go dance. I hate it in here."
