A fire was ignited, not only within her but in the laboratory as well. Morgan had gotten her first taste of blood since her rebirth and she would have more, so much more. Vigor, come to me. Now that the accursed chains were gone, she could feel her dragon again, hear his breathing and feel his wrath. Fisting two bundles of her long, thick hair, Morgan threw them over her shoulders so it could fall down her back. Every line and curve of her naked body was visible yet covered by the onyx scales. Morgan's hips swung as she walked past Dr. Devane's soddened body to leave. The growing fire blazed higher behind her the closer she got to the exit, it licked at her dark skin but never touched it.
The lab's pressurized metal door flew off its hinges and fell at her feet at Morgan's very presence, making way for her freedom. Morgan moved forward, stepping out into a dimly lit hallway. A red warning light flashed overhead and a siren blared out from an unknown location. The laboratory behind her finally exploded, destroying everything needle, every contraption and monitoring device that touched her. Two armed guards suddenly bended the corner at the end of the hallway where she stood, their egregious bat faces a far cry from the ear piercing shriek they released. But Morgan wasn't rattled. She lifted the otherwise heavy door at her feet with such ease as if it were a mere toy. She used the thick metal as a shield when they began firing their guns at her. Her magnificent hearing picked up on their quick footsteps as the vampires ran towards her, however the princess waited. Morgan waited until they were closer, then with a gentle push, sent the door flying into the bloodsuckers, crushing them against the wall at the end of the hallway where they previously stood.
Out of nowhere, Morgan began whistling, a trick she couldn't master before. The ineffable, black woman walked down the corridor and past her victims to go down another where she found a group of about thirty armed guards waiting for her. The sinister grin that overtook her face sent a tidal wave of fear through the vampires. However, this time she didn't wait for them to attack, she was out for revenge and she'd get it. Morgan ran up on the walls, jumping back and forth at an inhumane speed that the vampires didn't know where to turn their heads to shoot at her. She was already within their midst by the time they realized that they couldn't aim. Her claws took the first vampire's head off with precision then ripped out the throat of another. Morgan's body was fluid, twisting and turning as if guided by some unseen magic to slaughter her enemies. Her barbed tail easily pistoned through the mouth of the last vampire, destroying his face.
Morgan stepped over the bodies of the guards strewn on the ground and resumed whistling again. She didn't see anyone else on her way to find the exit which left her a tad disappointed. She quickly became more aggravated when she realized the main exit was proving difficult to find, the whole building must have been a maze. Suddenly, a weak voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Help us."
Looking to her right, there was a rectangular window that allowed her to peer inside of another laboratory resembling the one she was held hostage in. There were three downtrodden demons strung up like she had been, however, they were in their true demonic form and as ugly as they came. Morgan went closer to the window for an assessment of the damage done to them. They represented everything she'd once despised about herself, weak and helpless, and the best thing she could do was to put them out of their misery. Within the next second, the pristine room was engulfed in high flames. It ran up the four corners quickly, it seared the skin of the wailing, pathetic demons that fought against the chains that bound them. The dancing fire burnt them into ash then continued eating everything in its path.
A new reassurance swept through Morgan's body, she literally had the power to do whatever the hell she wanted. Closing her eyes, the striking woman took a deep breath and released it. The very air within her presence began vibrating with immense energy, an energy so strong that the entire building she was trapped in trembled then began crumbling around her without so much as a pebble falling on her head. Her eyes reopened slowly. The building's demolition was pleasant but the sight of guards fleeing into the nearby grassland was better . The thrum of a helicopter circled overhead in the night sky with an accompanying searchlight but Morgan made no effort to move from her spot in the rubble. The displeasure from the light beam on Morgan quickly became vexation when bullets rained down on her like hail from the heavens yet she remained rooted to the ground. What should have shredded her body to pieces didn't. Her new skin was beautiful and impenetrable and it easily crushed the bullets that pelted her.
