Her own tears stung her unmercifully when it seeped into the open slices on her face. Grateful for the jolt it gave her to stay awake during the ordeal and never take her eyes off Lourdes even though her vision became obscured. A slice on her forehead gave way to trails blood racing down her forehead and into her eyes. Even though restrained, she did her best to blink rapidly to prevent further obstruction of her view of the shackled woman across from her. Morgan's body felt raw and pained her, the pungent smell of her own blood making her want to vomit again.

"Enough of this. You're not giving me what I truly want." Dr. Devane suddenly released in an exasperated tone.

He threw the bloody dagger down on the metal table next to him then walked away. Her vision was fading in and out and Morgan didn't know how long she could stay awake. It was a freakin miracle that she was still breathing so she wouldn't quit now. Morgan's sensitive hearing managed to pick up the sound of running water followed by some shuffling. The mad scientist returned to the table with a small mortar and pestle along with pieces of glass. The princess watched him as he silently worked to ground the glass to dust in the mortar. She didn't want to think about what he was going to do with the lethal particles but she already had an inclination about what it could be. Devane wanted her to focus on him and not her dying sister.

The second he finished grinding the glass to bits and saw him pour the dust in his palm, Morgan sealed her eyes shut. She knew fighting him was futile while she couldn't move but it didn't stop her from trying to move her head to prevent herself from being blinded. Her stomach was filled with dread the second her left eyes was pried open and saw the white glass dust blowing in her face. She screamed as her eye felt like it was stuck with a thousand needles. The doctor attacked Morgan's right eye in her moment of despair, blinding her instantly. There was no word she could use the describe her agony when the fresh hot liquid ran down her scarred face.

"I believe you also deserve a little additional punishment for your actions. Don't you think, Princess?" Devane threw out the rhetorical question to which Morgan still kept her mouth closed and ground her teeth.

A moment of silence went by before Morgan heard the weak cry from across the room. He was hurting Lourdes and the worst part was she couldn't even see what he was doing to her sister.

"Nooo! No! Don't touch her you son of a bitch, leave her alone! Hurt me! Kill me!" Morgan cried out.

Helplessness had set in and wore her down to nothing. She couldn't save them and nobody cared. Lourdes' cry would haunt her until her final moments.

"Please, pl- she's all I have. Just take out whatever vengeance you have on me."

"There! That's what I want. I've been waiting for the moment you realize that you can't save her and boy it's the sweetest thing I've ever tasted."

He was feasting on her despair like the savage leech he was. Morgan didn't have a response for his brutal truth and wished she could see her sister one last time.

"Get some rest, you have a big day ahead tomorrow. It's time you met your host."

The flick of a button was loud enough for her to hear and immediately the slab to which she was fastened began moving backwards until Morgan was now lying flat on her back. The slightest wisp of air that flurried past burnt her with an underlying itch. Clothed in darkness without the ability to see, the ebony woman resorted to listening for her sister's breathing but was unable to hear properly over her own heartbeat and the sound of the ECG machine.

"Hang on, Lourdes. I'm still here with you ." Morgan spoke loud enough with a broken voice and prayed her sister heard.
