Whoever said that hate is a weak emotion must not have known true hatred. Morgan sat at the foot of her bed swallowed up in the darkness of her room. She wasn't herself, she knew she wasn't but she relished this feeling, the white hot fury that pumped through her veins. The conquered woman loathed Mignon with every atom that made up her being and soon she would have her revenge. Morgan would grab that golden crown off her mother's head and crush it beneath her feet, then slowly and painfully slit her throat from ear to ear and drink her filthy blood. Mignon would beg her to. Morgan will not be satisfied until she fashioned a new throne from the bones of that bitch. The deathly silence brought everlasting bliss, she was glad she smashed her phone against the wall to end the ceaseless ringing.

Two days earlier

"So are you coming to the Honor Day celebration?" Morgan asked Diana as they returned their practice weapons. It seemed like everything supernatural was gearing up for her brother's big day except for the her. He would be held by Kings and Queens from the different sectors and tracts. Gifts of untold riches and favours would be given, even up until his first birthday. Just as it was done for her, Mignon will use her innocent little brother as tool to get what she wants and do with as she pleased.

"It's more of an obligation for me, I am employed to an institution under the aegis of the Queen therefore I have to be there. Plus you never know what might happen."

"Do you think the vampires will attend?" Morgan regretted asking the silly question, of course they wouldn't show up. For as long as she had known herself, the demons and vampires were always at war. Those parasites didn't stand a chance against the demon kind but yet they persisted. The worst part was that they kept growing in numbers, they were like fleas you couldn't get rid of. Always fighting to be on top of the food chain in the Underworld, but never realizing they belonged beneath their feet.

"If they have any sense left in their micro brain, they will stay in their pit and die there." the disdain in Diana's voice made Morgan grin. Both women headed to the showers and finally put an end to another successful work day.

Normally, a good walk would be nice for Morgan but after her little spat with that hunk of a man a few nights ago, she was being more cautious about how she travelled. For a moment she forgot there was danger lurking. So without haste, she bought herself a luxury car and hired a new driver. Oh, how she missed Jefferson!

She was staring mindlessly through the window, watching her people as she passed them. In the midst of the crowd she saw his alluring face. This had been happening since that night they spoke and way too frequently for her liking. He would appear in the most random of places and then disappear in a split second. At one point, Morgan thought she was losing her mind but then those hellish sex dreams began and that confirmed what she was thinking. That he was the one. Waking up wetter than a swamp will make things pretty clear for you.

Tomorrow was her brother's honour day and Morgan had acquired the perfect gown for the event. Now she would purchase the perfect gift for her baby brother. She had seen it before, a special basket filled with clothes, stuffed animals and a rare sterling silver baby rattle with intricate detailing carved into it. It had bells inside that mimicked the sound of wind chimes and a small bow with his name Mercer Milan LaFray. Everything a baby boy could want.

The air felt magical, there was even a bit of sunlight shining through the cloudy sky. The prince's chubby face was plastered on banners, digital screens and billboards as the celebration would be broadcasted live across the city. Citizens crowded the streets awaiting the address from their Queen and introduction of their new Prince. Morgan barely made it in time for the ceremony because the road to the palace was congested however if she had to walk there, she would have just to celebrate the new Royal.
