Morgan clutched the bouquet of colorful roses in her hands tightly as she walked with timid steps into the hospital. After her time with Lynx, the princess rushed back to her penthouse so she could be there for her friend, if she was still her friend. Morgan was freaking the hell out because she didn't know the reaction that she would get for seeing Diana. In that moment, Morgan was glad that being from a royal descent had its perks because she was able to go to Diana's room without question and after the visiting period was over.
Things seemed to be working in her favor, because Cassius was not present, which gave Morgan time to speak with Diana about the incident that occurred. However, the beautiful, dark colored woman was resting when she entered the room quietly, Morgan placed the bouquet of flowers on the bedside table then took the available chair that was next her hospital bed. With a shaky hand Morgan released a breath then took hold of her teacher's slightly smaller one. Tears immediately flooded her eyes as she looked at the bag connected to her arm and the garish bandage on her shoulder laughing at her.
"I'm so sorry Diana, I didn't mean to hurt you." Morgan's voice sounded foreign to her, maybe it was the guilt. "I... I know you only push me so hard because you want me to me the best and I want to show you that I am the best but I don't know what came over me. I-"
Morgan choked back a sob when she felt Diana squeezing her hand. Morgan eyes flicked from their joined hands to Diana's face where she saw her eye fluttering open to look at her surroundings.
"Hey, hey D. Take it easy." Morgan encouraged as she saw Diana attempting to sit up on her own.
Morgan jumped right into action by pouring a cup of water then helped her to sit upright so she could drink it. When Diana seemed more comfortable, Morgan made sure to keep a little distance between them since Diana seemed so scared of her the last time they had an encounter.
"I'm sorry about waking you but I had to come to apologize. I'm truly sorry about-"
"It's okay Morgan." her words surprised Morgan.
"What? I don't- what do you mean it's ok, I hurt you."
Morgan's confusion was evident and she needed to know why Diana had a change of heart. Her teacher swallowed a mouthful of water before clearing her throat to speak again.
"Yes, you did hurt me but after I got over the initial shock of what happened, I realized that you were just as scared of yourself as I was. You were basically raised as a human and you have never really had a true encounter with your demon and know what she is capable of. Given that you're of Royal blood, I guess you would be very different from the rest of us."
Morgan pondered her friend's words and found that she was right. The constant headaches and movements beneath her skin, Morgan only knew half of what she was and the other half still remained a mystery. Her whole life was a damn puzzle and frankly Morgan had grown tired of figuring out herself and the man who was supposed be hers.
"I suppose you're right. I'm just... so frustrated you know. I'm supposed to be this embodiment of perfection as the future queen, as a mate and yet I keep messing up. I am on the verge of abdicating the throne and leaving this life behind."
"And go where, back to that cesspool called Earth?"
"Hey! It's not-"
"Shut up!" Diana's harsh tone made Morgan become mute. "Did I waste my time all these months training you just so you could give up? Did I nearly lose an arm just so you could run away to play with the humans?! Seems like a bitch move to me. Are you a weak bitch, Morgan?"
"Uh, no I'm not."
"I asked you a question, are you a weak ass bitch, Morgan?!"
"Hell no!"
