The hot sun was beating down on the ninja, and large birds had started circling them from above. Zane was outside attempting to fix the damage done to the mobile base.

Jay and Nya were inside and Nya was attempting to use the radio to contact Wu or Pixal Jay spotted the birds and groaned and said, "Vultures, that's never a good sign."

Zane's voice came over the radio and he said, "They are carrion birds, It is a sign they believe we are a potential meal. "Oh. Thanks, Zane. Way to boost morale!" Jay snapped

"Can you guys keep it down? I'm trying to reach Pixal on the radio!" Nya said and she said into the radio which was producing static, "Come in? Pixal, can you hear me? Mayday, Mayday! Come in, Pixal!"

Lloyd entered with a box in his hands and asked, "Any luck?"

The radio let out a beep and Nya turned around and said in an exasperated voice, "Nothing. There's something wrong with the long-range transmitter, but I can't figure out what."

"Okay, well, don't give up," Lloyd said and he left the base to go outside where, Cole, Kai, and Misty were sitting. Cole was using a book to fan himself and they were all sitting against a large box. Kai let out a sigh as Lloyd set down the box he was carrying, "That's the last of it."

Kai and Misty stood up and Kai said "That's not good. Less than a day's supply of water,"

"And the ATV and the Dune Bounty are wrecked and the rock cycle isn't fast enough to outrun those beetles!" Cole said

"Well, even if it could, it would only carry one of us," Kai said

"Maybe Nya can draw some water out of the air?" Lloyd offered hopefully.

Misty snorted as she looked around the desert there was nothing but sand for miles and the heat was dry and unforgiving. Cole seem to notice her skepticism and said. "In this heat? Low humidity? I don't think so."

They heard clanging and turned to find Jay using his weapon as a chisel and carving a message into stone.

"Jay, what are you doing?" Kai asked

"Craving a message on this rock, so people know who we are when they find our bones." Jay cried and then he turned to Misty and said, "Misty you did crystal craving come help me!"

Misty shrugged and dusted herself off and walked over to Jay to help.

"Can we try to be a little more optimistic, please?" Lloyd begged and he grabbed her hand to stop her from reaching Jay. He tried not to notice how Misty pulled her hand out of his instead of staying holding his hand.

"I'm afraid there is little cause for optimism," Zane said and he walked from where he was behind the base and joined them saying, "Our situation is dire, The Bounty's engine will not start without the Thermolytic Kinetic Inverter." Zane explained Nya walked over to join them and Cole asked looking confused, "The Thermo-what?

"It is a critical engine component," Zane said

"Well, what's wrong with it?" Kai asked

"It is missing." Zane said and then added, "I believe when Beohernie ripped through the hull.."

Jay cut him off by saying, "Bernie!"

"He tore that component out and swallowed it." Zane finished

"Ugh. Well, that's just great!" Jay shouted and threw up his weapon it clattered behind him as he continued ranting, "First, a giant beetle tried to eat us alive, then we smash into a pile of rocks, and now we're..."

The others decided to ignore him and Lloyd and Nya walked over to Zane, Lloyd asked, "Can't we use the ATV's inverter?"
