Misty and The Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu (Ninjago)

Ancient History

The ninjas were struggling to get out of the museum rumble and debris was blocking their way. Lloyd and Cole were clearing the way although with some difficulty. Finally, they managed to clear enough to get through. "That way," Lloyd said and he kicked the remaining rumble out of the way and the ninja took off running out of the room and on their way.

They made their way outside the museum only to see the city bathed in an orange glow, from the fires and the setting sun. Fire-Fang's shrieking could be heard ringing throughout the city. And the ninja saw the huge snake slithering around its tongue flicking in and out of its mouth and tasting the air.

"We gotta stop that thing!" Lloyd shouted

"Wait, Lloyd!" Zane shouted Lloyd stopped and Zane warned Lloyd by saying, "Aspheera has beaten us twice, and with the scroll, she is more powerful than ever."

"We can't just give up." Lloyd countered.

"I am not proposing that. But Master Wu taught us to think before rushing into battle. We need to know more about her and this Deceiver. Perhaps then, we will find a way to defeat her." Zane said

"You're talking ancient Serpentine History," Kai countered

"Yeah, who do you plan to ask?" Coel added

Zane was thoughtful for a moment and then Jay pipped up and said, "What about Scales? Well, he's Serpentine. Maybe he knows."

The Serpentine don't usually get involved." Nya said

"We have to try it's not like we have any other options," Misty said

"Misty's right there's only one way to find out," Cole said

"Okay, Jay, Cole, and Kai, you guys track down Scales. Find out what you can." Lloyd said

"What are you gonna do?" Kai asked

"We're gonna see if we can slow Aspheera down and get that scroll back. Come on!" Lloyd shouted the ninja rushed off and Misty took a deep breath and hurried after Zane, Nya, and Lloyd.

They ran through the streets as people ran past them screaming in terror abandoned cars scattered the side of the road some of them were on fire.

"They must be headed for the south side of the city!" Zane shouted as they ran.

"But why? There's nothing there." Nya asked

They jumped over a few cars blocking their way and continued running, and Zane explained by saying, "We must assume the Deceiver is there."

"Zane, can you plot us a shortcut? So we can get ahead of her?" Lloyd asked

"Cross-referencing alternate routes," Zane said and then seconds later he said, "I have plotted the fastest route!" He then turned and lead them a different way and said, "This way!"

Zane had led them to a highway that they overlooked and they ran toward the edge and Zane shouted, "Jump!" They slid down the incline and leaped on top of a bus heading down the highway. As the bus drove Misty could see the flaming orange snake in the distance. "There she is!" Lloyd shouted

They reached a turn and Zane demanded they jump off, "Now!" They jumped to the street below a few feet away was the snake breathing fire and roaring and hissing. "So, what's the plan?" Nya asked

"I have an idea!" Zane said and then he took off running in the opposite direction leaving Misty, Nya, and Lloyd. "But Aspheera's over there!" Nya shouted Zane used a car hood as a springboard and launched himself away and shouted back, "I will return."

Lloyd turned to Misty and Nya and said, "You distract her while I try and get that scroll back,"

They flipped up their hoods and got to work. Nya and Misty ran and they reached the snake mummies on the ground behind Aspheera, and Nya called out to them, "Hiya, fellas," One lunged at Nya and she dodged and flung it into the other that was approaching. Misty kicked one into the wall and used Spinjitzu to fling another. Both she and Nya were making quick work of the smaller snakes. Both of them exited their tornados and Misty heard Aspheera scream, "Fire-Fang, destroy them!" "Nya watched out!" Misty screamed as the snake swatted its tail at the two of them. Both of them managed to dodge in time. Only to have fireballs blasted at them. Misty flung up and shield of crystal but it shattered throwing her backward. She landed a few feet away, and Nya landed on her feet, ahead of Misty, and said, "Sorry. but have other plans"

She knocked the top of a fire hydrate off and then attempted to blast the snake with water but the snake retaliated and it resulted in an explosion blasting Nya backward. Misty managed to steady her as the snake closed in on the two. It had pushed them back toward the river that ran through the city. They spotted Lloyd and Nya muttered, "Lloyd. I hope this works"

"Hey, I'm not done yet, fireworm! Now Misty!" Nya shouted

Misty rushed forward and then created a crystal shield in front of both her and Nya. Nya pulled the water from the river behind them and lifted it into the air. "Destroy them! Nothing will stand in the way of my vengeance!" Aspheera screamed and she used her spear to lift several cars into the air they smashed into Misty's wall shattering. Misty stumbled backward and Nya used the water to block the cars from striking both of them. "Hang on!" Nya shouted

"Again. Blast it again. Fire-Fang!" Aspheera shouted

Before the snake could send another blast the two girl's way though. Lloyd reached Aspheera's side and shouted, "Surprised," He flipped using the spears sticking out from the side of Aspheera's throne and knocked the spear out of the snake's grasp. The spear flew upward and both Aspheera and Lloyd jumped up and grabbed each side of the staff. But Aspheera used Spinjitzu fling, Lloyd, into a sign he slammed into it and fell he managed to catch himself and landed on the sidewalk. Only to be then set upon by the mummies that stalked the streets.

Nya and Misty were struggling to fend off Fire-Fang and the approaching mummies. They met up with Lloyd in the middle of the street. "Lloyd!" Nya shouted they faced back to back prepared to take on the onslaught of enemies that now surrounded them.

"Where's Zane?" Lloyd shouted

"Beats me!" Nya screamed back,

"I trust him! If he said he'll come back he will!" Misty shouted she braced herself and readied her weapons prepared for the worst.

Just then shards of ice slammed into the ground in front of the approaching mummies halting their advance toward the three ninjas. "You!" Aspheera screamed and Misty saw a helicopter and Zane in the pilot seat. The mummies retreated and Zane flew the copter till it was behind the ninja and fired creating an ice barrier between them and their attackers.

Cracks appeared as Fire Fang began to melt through the ice. "Hop on!" Zane shouted and a hook was lowered to the ninja. Nya and Lloyd jumped on just as the wall broke, With both their free hands both Nya and Lloyd grabbed onto Misty's hands as the copter took off into the air.

"What now?" Nya asked as they lowered their hoods. "I sure hope the others are doing better than we are," Lloyd said

Misty looked down at the city as they continued to fly. Zane was slowly lifting them up on the hook and they jumped onto the copter. Misty was on a wing with Lloyd and was looking burning city below them. They circled back around and were trying to locate Aspheera but she seemed to have disappeared. Nya was on the other wing.

"She's a glowing screaming snake how could she just disappear!" Misty huffed a scowl was evident on her face.

Misty's brow then furrowed and she looked to Lloyd and said, "Hey, Aspheera's really old, so wouldn't the deceiver have to be like ancient? How does she even know if he's still alive, wouldn't he be long dead by now?"

Lloyd also looked troubled upon hearing this and he said, "Maybe the deceiver isn't human maybe it's an Oni, like Mystake,"

Misty shook her head and said, "Whoever it is couldn't be fully human or they would have died by now. They must have some other blood in their veins if she truly believes they would have survived this long.

"The only person to have oni blood running in their veins and also old enough is my father and..." Lloyd's voice trailed off and Misty said, "Wu..."

Misty then sighed and looked at the city below them and said, "Let's hope it's neither for both of our sakes..."
