The Two Blades

The ninjas were still trapped inside the mines and were mining for what was to them an unknown ore. It was dull black in color and had glowing yellowish/orange veins running through them.

Lloyd managed to knock off a piece and picked it up and eyed it closely and said, "What is this stuff we're mining for? It looks familiar."

"It's Vengestone! That's why our powers failed!" Nya cried as she walked over to observe the strange rock in Lloyd's hand. They both flinched as they heard the loud crack of a whip, and they looked up to see a Re-Awakened whipping a Mino.

"Hey! Cut that out!" Misty cried

Cole narrowed his eyes at the awakened as well and he shouted, "Hey! Leave him alone, you big bully!" he threw his pickaxe and pinned the Warrior's whip to the opposite wall. The Warrior snatched his companion's whip and then shattered him in rage, he then advanced on Cole menacingly. "Okay, um, I didn't think that through," Cole said nervously. Misty stepped in front of Cole with Lloyd beside her and said, "Try me you sorry sack of bones!"

The warrior snapped its whip at them and the three dodged, he tried again only for the whip to be caught by Nya she then swung the warrior and he fell backward. He looked up as the ninja surrounded him, Cole was holding the metal ball above his head and said, "Hold this for me, would ya?" He dropped it on the fallen warrior, and the Geckles and Munce cheered. Sadly more warriors surrounded the ninja and being largely outnumbered they were soon overpowered and shoved back into their bone cage.

Zane sighed and said, "That accomplished very little."

"Yeah. But it was worth it. Heh." Cole said smiling the Mino licked him, "Ugh! Oh, you again." and he gently patted the Mino's snout.

Lloyd was leaning up against the wall and Misty was slumped beside Cole and Kai, she reached over and gently patted Mino's snout as well with a small smile.

Murt rolled a cart of blows over and he handed Lloyd a bowl. "For you. Murt, bring food."

"Thanks, Murt," Lloyd said as he accepted the bowl

"Don't trust Munce bearing gifts!" Gliff hissed as he walked up beside Lloyd.

"Don't trust Geckle blade stealer!" Murt snarled back

"Guys, come on! Why do you hate each other so much?" Lloyd said and he placed the bowl down on the ground. Gliff and Murt growl at each other in response.

"Yeah, I wanna know about this "blade stealer" thing. What exactly happened between you?" Cole asked and raised his hand.

"Yes, I too, am curious. Please explain the origin of your mutual mistrust." Zane added

"Oh. Very well. I will tell you of the Two Blades. One was the Ivory Blade of Deliverance. The other was the Shadow Blade of Deliverance. They belonged to a mighty warrior named Gilly." Gliff said

"Milly." Murt snarled

"Not "Milly," you fool! Gilly!" Gliff snapped

"Milly."

"Skip the name, it doesn't matter! Just finish the story, please." Cole said sounding exasperated

Misty snorted and leaned her weight on Kai's shoulder and muttered, "Ha, ha imaged if their both wrong and they're arguing about the names for nothing,"

"That would be ironic," Kai muttered and he gently reached up and ruffled Misty's hair.

"The warrior came to our mountain many, many years ago. In those days, Geckles and Munce lived in fear, for there was a terrible dragon in the heart of the mountain." Gliff explained
