The ninjas were racing toward the city as fast as they could, Kai was in his car and Cole was on his cycle and Zane was flying the copter Pixal took to get them. The city was still too far away but Misty could see smoke in the nearing distance and her heart sank in her chest.

"We leave Ninjago City for what a day and a few hours and come back and it's on the verge of burning downing!" Misty said and buried her face in her hands. She let out an annoyed groan. Lloyd, Jay, Nya, and Her were standing on the roof of the Land Bounty in preparation.

"What are you implying by that?" Lloyd asked he sounded as if he was on edge.

Misty scoffed and said, "That the City has pretty scuffed planning for stuff like this... I mean come on after everything the city has been through you expect the bare minimum of planning for emergencies to be made!"

"What options could they possibly have?!" Lloyd shouted his eyes narrowing.

"One builds panic shelters both underground and some above ground. Uh, two have some sort of another defense system. I mean seriously we have minds like Pixal and Cyrus Borg why not build something in case we're not there." Misty said and then added, "We're seven people, nine counting Wu and Pixal, we can not be everywhere at once, and they can't possibly keep expecting us to be! We just got trapped in a pyramid by "Miss I will have my REVENGE!" What would happen if we didn't get out or Pixal didn't arrive in time? The City needs to start thinking of those things for its own safety and its people's!" She shouted back her voice shaking.

Lloyd's eyes narrowed and he said, "The Ninja will always be here to protect Ninjago!"

Misty turned her gaze away from Lloyd and continued to look at the darkening smoke cloud in the sky, ahead of them and said quietly. "For the City's sake, I hope you're right..." Nya and Jay were silent and they both gazed at Lloyd as if looking for reassurance. Lloyd clenched his fist but said nothing. He would be lying if he said, Misty's words did not scare him.

Just as they entered Ninjago and were racing down the deserted street, Misty could heard a voice screaming, "Help! Somebody help me!" Pixal's voice came over the radio and she shouted, "One of the fire snakes has gotten hold of a newscaster! Up ahead be prepared, Ninja!"

Misty watched as the snake tossed the reporter he had in his fangs up into the air. The man screamed as he fell down toward the firey snake's now opened jaws.

"I got him!" Kai shouted and raced ahead tyres squealed as he slammed the side of his car into the snake knocking it off balance then opened his hatch and caught the reporter in his arms.

The snake roared as the other ninja arrived shortly afterward. It lodged a fireball that flew right over Misty as she dove to the floor to avoid being hit, it flew in between Lloyd and Jay. Who both blasted him with green energy and lightning. This seemed to stun the snake enough for Nya to open a fire hydrant and blast the snake with water causing it to turn black. Zane inside the copter shot it with two missiles of ice and the snake evaporated into smoke. Lloyd and Misty left the Land Bounty and Kai walked the distressed reporter over to Lloyd who was sobbing and he cried, "Thank you. You're back. Thank you! I thought that thing was gonna eat me!"

"It's okay. You're gonna be fine," Lloyd tried to assure the man.

"Yeah, maybe after six years of therapy..." Misty muttered softly shaking her head.

The reporter seem to share her sentiment and shouted, "I'm not gonna be fine." He dropped to his knees while still shouting, "I'm not! I'm gonna be scarred for the rest of my--"

Cole seeing that the man's state was only worsening, walked over and said calmly, "Hey, buddy, it's okay. You're all right" The man was crying and he collected himself and stood up and said, "Okay, yeah. I'm... I'm okay now."

"Look, we have to go. We've got to find Aspheera. She's the cause of all this." Lloyd said

The reporter sniffled and said, "Gayle Gossip already found her. Aspheera is on her way to the Ninjago Museum of History."

"What are we waiting for? Let's hit the road." Cole said and the ninja took off driving away. Leaving a dust cloud behind them that the reporter choked on.

Lloyd looked over at Misty and saw she was staring at the burning city around her as they sped through the streets. The flames of the fires reflected off her hair and eyes casting her face in dancing shadows as the sun was setting. Her expression was grim and her lips were set in a thin.

Lloyd couldn't help but noticed Misty's attitude about a lot of things had changed. She seemed more tired and almost weary in a way. Her eyes always seemed a little darker as well as if the light in them was slowly dimming. Not only that but even though she had to tell him about it, he was well aware that her element wasn't working as it used to. Ever since their run-in with the Oni, her powers had never been the same. And they had only gotten worse as his and Misty's relationship started declining. Her element at times even refused to work and at others, it wouldn't produce the right crystal Misty desired. The white crystal the type that was most stable and symbolized creation was the kind Misty used to create her weapons and barriers. Now was a rare occurrence when she used her element. In passing he heard Zane and Cole discussing Misty's decline in hushed and concerned voices with one another. They were both extremely concerned for her and what it meant for Misty's health both psychically, emotionally, and mentally. After all Misty's powers always had been a representation of her emotional state. Lloyd felt a twist in his stomach and his heart sink at what Misty's current state might mean.

Misty seemed to feel Lloyd staring because she turned and looked at him. Their eyes met only briefly and Misty turned away from him and back toward the flames ahead. Lloyd then looked at Cole on his cycle riding a few feet ahead of them. Ever since Lloyd could remember Cole had always been there for Misty. Even before Lloyd joined the ninja he could tell Cole and Misty shared a close bond. But they seemed to be even closer now, and he couldn't help but feel like something happened between them that he hadn't yet been made aware of. But surely Misty or Cole would have told him by now, right?
