A Cold Goodbye

It had been a few days since Zane's defeat by Aspheera. Pixal was understandably taking it the hardest out of all of them. She'd often had nightmares that caused her to cry out at night. The team where in the living room when they heard her scream "NO!" from her room. They looked at each other and tripped over themselves to rush to her room to make sure she was okay. Nya was in the lead followed by Jay, Lloyd, Misty and Kai, and Cole.

Nya flung open the door and said, "Pixal! Are you okay?"

Pixal was sitting up in her bed and was holding a framed picture. "I'm fine, I was dreaming about the moment he... he..." She couldn't bring herself to finish her sentence.

Nya gently reached over and patted her on the back and said, "It's okay. I know."

"I find it difficult to accept that he is gone," Pixal said

Misty looked down at the ground her expression grim, and said softly, "I don't want to accept he's gone,"

"Me too," Lloyd said and then let out a sigh.

"We all do. It just doesn't feel real," Jay admitted

Just then Wu ran through the door and shouted, "Zane is alive!"

The ninjas instantly ran over to him and Lloyd shouted, "What?"

"Where?" Kai demanded

"How?" Pipped up, Jay.

"Quiet, all of you. Listen!" Wu demanded and then explained, "I spoke to Aspheera at Kryptarium Prison. She didn't destroy Zane. She banished him to a distant realm."

"Well, what are we waiting for? We gotta go after him!" Kai shouted

"Yeah, what realm?" Lloyd asked

"The Never-Realm," Wu said and his brow furrowed.

"Huh?" Lloyd asked confused

"What?" Kai muttered

"The Never-Realm?" Nya asked confused

"Sounds cheery," Misty muttered

"I've never heard of it." Cole admitted

"There are few who have." Wu said and then he left the room the ninja chased after him Wu was walking at a fast pace, and Lloyd shouted, "Wait! What's the Never-Realm? According to legend, It is the most distant and remote of all realms. My father only spoke of it to me once..." Wu stopped suddenly causing the ninja to crash into him, and he said, "In warning," He then continued walking and talking, "He told me of all the realms of creation, it was the one I should never visit. He told me it was a cold and dangerous place. He forbade it,"

"Um, "forbade," as in absolutely never ever?" Jay asked

Wu stopped again and the others caught up and Kai asked, "Why?"

"Yeah, what's wrong with it?" Cole added

"I don't know. He went there only once and said he nearly couldn't find his way home. He said it was unlike the other realms. He warned me that others would not be as fortunate." Wu said he then opened the doors to his room and Jay said, "Well, that's just great. Creepy and vague,"

"As per usual," Misty said with a sigh. She watched as Wu started packing his things and he said, "I will use Aspheera's staff to find Zane. It banished him there it will work for me too. Once I have found him, I will use the Traveller's Tea to bring us both home." He had opened a cabinet and taken out a small wooden box. Inside were two leather pouches.

"You mean all eight of us because we're going with you," Lloyd said

"Yeah!" Cole agreed

"Absolutely not. I cannot allow it. What happened to him is my fault and mine alone. It is my responsibility." Wu said solemnly.
