It was still nighttime and soon it was only down to Zane and Nya, and after seeing the results, Zane said, "I believe paper beats rocks,"

The rest of the ninjas stared at Zane with sad and concerned looks as he said, "Do not worry, my friends. Logically, I am the best choice. Being a Nindroid, I am more difficult to digest and can survive longer inside a stomach."

Jay tackled him in a hug and cried out, "So long, buddy!"

"I have every intention of surviving, Jay," Zane said reassuring Jay.

"Sure you do, pal. Sure you do." Jay cried and sniffed back tears.

"You better come back, Zane, or Pixal's going to kill the rest of us," Misty said

Zane chuckled and patted Misty's shoulder and said, "Of course Misty," Misty then hugged Zane and said, "Be careful,"

They waited for the sun to rise as they thought up the best plan. They tied a rope around Zane's waist and attached it to a wheel of the Rock-Cycle.

"Let's run through the plan again," Lloyd said

"I ban the pot, drawing the creature's attention. He eats me when I am in his stomach. I locate the inverter, radio back, and you pull me out." Zane said in his hand were a wrench and a pot.

"Right." Lloyd agreed the Vultures above them screeched loudly. Jay whimpered and said, "What could possibly go wrong?"

"Don't say that! You'll Jinx it!" Misty hissed, she walked over to Zane and handed him a large purple crystal it was glowing slightly. "Take this, it'll glow brighter in the dark, maybe it can be of use,"

"Thanks, Misty," Zane said

"Remember careful," Misty mumbled.

Zane nodded and he walked out onto the sand and started banging the bottom of the pot with the wrench. But there was nothing Zane turned around confused and shrugged confusedly. But then the ground was shaking and the beetle erupted from the sand shrieking and screeching. Zane threw aside the pot and wrench and the beetle devoured him and dove back under the sand.

"Zane!" Lloyd shouted

"Oh, no!" Jay shouted

"It ate him. It actually ate him." Kai said,

They flipped up their hoods to use the radio and Nya shouted, "Zane! Zane, can you hear me?"

"Hang, on, Zane!" Cole shouted

But there was nothing but static on his side.

"Zane, come in!" Nya shouted again.

"Maybe the sand is blocking the signal!"Lloyd offered desperately.

"Or he's being dissolved in stomach acid!" Jay cried

"What do we do?" Cole asked

Just then the rope on the cycle was pulled tight it had reached the end of its lead. Misty bit her lip and mumbled, "Come, Zane, you can do this,"

All they could do was stand and stare at the sand waiting to hear back. It had been a long time, and finally, Jay shouted, "This is crazy! How long has he been in there?" and he lowered his hood.

"Almost an hour," Nya replied and they turned to look. Cole got to his feet and shouted, "We have to pull him out! Before it's too late!"

"What if he needs more time to find the inverter?" Lloyd asked

"Lloyd's right we gotta stick to the plan. Wait for the signal," Kai said

Just then the radio crackled to life and Zane's voice was heard, "Hello? Can anyone hear me? Are you there?"
