"Fiona I told you this child changes nothing." Silas said in such a stern voice I almost believed him. But I could see the way he tenderly held our child. One could not fake the amount of love in his eyes. Everything I've ever known from this brother is he is weak. He wouldn't let his child go to a land where he would never see it. I just know him he wouldn't. "Besides Henviona, the country you married has just sent me a letter I think you'll be very interested in."

His words got my attention. "What is it ?"

Silas shifted on his feet rocking our son carefully. "They want you to rule in your husbands place until the babies 18th birthday."

"Me?" I said my eye brows raised. Silas nodded an unsure expression plastered across his face. "That county has been anti-women for centuries. My husband practically treated me as a slave. Why on earth would their council agree to answer to me."

"Probably because you do hold all the cards right now.  It's not uncommon for a mother to take her heirs place until they are of age." Silas explained. "You always have wanted to be incharge of your destiny. Free to make your own decisions. There is nothing here for you but a death sentence for your actions. I think you should bow out thankful for the opportunity you have always wanted."

His words stung. Our life together. Me hiding in the shadows it's all I've ever known. It's all I've ever wanted....well atleast it's all ive ever thought possible for me. But he was right. I literally had an entire country under my rule. I could take my child and live far away from this place of pain. I could see he was serious in his threats. He truly has grown into a ruler. And I.....I'm still a survivor. I will do what i have always had to do to survive. "As soon as the doctor clears me....I'll go."

"I thought you'd come to your senses....." his voice trailed off and I knew the next question he would ask. "Fiona if you really care for me the way you say you do. Then please. Tell me what you know about this substance outbreak. Who is responsible?"

I gritted my teeth. He finally was beating me at my own game. I hated how much I did truly love him and I do hope he will let me return one day. I knew reconciliation for what I've done could only happen if I told him. "Cousin Matthew. He's not only been hiring farmers to grow the substance and distributing it. He's been doing it under the table and not paying taxes. Hes gotten filthy rich off the ordeal."

"That disgusting man." We both jumped as Thea bursts into my chamber. She clearly had been crying. Her eyes puffy and blood shot. She wiped at her nose. "I knew it. Peter said someone was purposely distributing it. And I just knew he was up to something at our last ball."

"Thea my darling." Silas quickly handed off my son to a maid. "How long have you been out there."

"How dare you snoop at my door." I snapped at her. I was fuming at this woman.

"How dare me??" Thea's perfect composure finally cracked. I didn't think it was possible but this is the first time I had ever heard her speak up for herself. I couldn't hate her for it. "Do you know that Fiona tried to have Cousin Matthew take advantage of me so I would produce an heir for you." She glared at Silas in a way I never bight possible. Pure anger was in her eyes.

"You did what?!" Silas turned to me. His face red.

"I knew she didn't know how to please you. The kingdom was trying to sign her death warrant. You should thank me." I snickered watching even more anger grow on Thea's face. I couldn't help but be happy at that.

"Don't act innocent." Thea said turning to Silas and then glancing to our child in my arms. "After everything I did to produce this baby...." She held her stomach. She wasn't really showing yet but it made her point. "I gave everything to you. I've sacrificed everything and that is what you do to me." I held my child closer as she pointed at him. Immediately my motherly protection kicked in and I felt offended. What she said was true but I still felt offended. "You are just as bad if not worse then her. I.....I loved you."

Silas tried stepping closer to her. "Please....I....I've tried so hard to not be what I am. I love you."

Thea through an arm up stopping his advanced. "Do not ever. Come near me again." Her voice was shaking but she heald strong, where did this once scared of her own shadow Queen come from ? "I may be your Queen....but I am no longer your wife." With that she turned and exited the room.

A silence fell over the room. I held in every laugh I wanted to release. Thank God she finally got it. She finally understood Silas will never be hers.

"If you were not holding our child, I would slap that smirk off your face." Silas said through his teeth

"At least you finally see it." The smile faded off my face.

Silas huffed. "For God sake Fiona what does that even mean."

I glared at him annoyed he hasn't figure it out himself. "I am the only woman who will ever love you and accept you for who you are."

Silas chuckled. I looked at him confused. "Fiona you're the one who will never see that I would rather sleep with All the kings men then touch you again."
