It all happened so quickly. The king's men riding in, arresting Jaxon in his men, escorting me into a rescue carriage. They assured me my sister Jasmine was alive and well. I didn't know if I should be relieved that she wasn't successful in seducing the king or afraid. Jaxon had built himself quite the following of people who felt scorned by the monarchy. I feared our current king didn't even know it. But the fact that they easily over powered Jaxon today and also knew we were victims here gave me a moment of relief.

My eyes set on our kingdoms castle for the very first time. It was much larger then I ever could have imagined. Towers covering every corner, large stain glass windows...it was beautiful. I barely had time to take in the view due to me being rushed into the infirmary. I couldn't help but be skeptical of the guards words. Jasmine was no where to be seen. They assured me as soon as I held a man, I would be allowed to see her. We had been taken advantage of our entire life...could I trust them? Did I have a choice ?

I walked slowly towards the man they wished for me to heal. I didn't need to use my powers to know how truly bad of shape he was in. He was bandaged up with lots of dried blood underneath him. His breathing was shallow and his skin was pale. Placing my index finger on his forehead I closed my eyes and was immediately hit with his pain and sadness.

Many of the years have told me how jealous they were of this power. But what they didn't understand was it was a curse from birth not a gift. When I healed someone I not only could see what happened to them but I felt all their pain and suffering. Sometimes it was unbearable.

Steadying myself I watched as a beautiful woman Stabbed this man. A sharp pain formed in my stomach and I grasped onto the table to support myself.

"Are you okay?" One of the guards asked from behind. The pain was so strong I couldn't answer. It took my breath away. And then I felt it. His soul was fading. He was inches from death.

Mustering all my strength I ran my hand down his chest and pressed down when I felt his beating heart. Concentrating I released all my power I could muster into him. My legs began to wobble and my vision became blury.

Wobbling on my feet I lifted my hand as he took a deep breath of life. His eyes popped open and he began coughing. I did it. I can finally see my sister again.

Before I could say anything my vision became worse and my head became light. I turned just in time to meet the eyes of my sister before I passed out on the floor.
