I stepped onto the wet deck of the ship. The salty sea air filled my lungs and I could hear seagulls laughing their strange chirp somewhere in the distance. Waves crashed upon us rocking the old faithful structure and causing me to work harder to walk straight. The sun had just began to rise and it cast a beautiful display of light on the horizon. Orange, red, and yellow lit up the distance. That's when my eyes laid on land for the first time in months.

"We are almost there." I whispered to myself. Sailing grew old very quickly. The tight spaces and limited food got rather boring fast. But that isn't what troubled me. Since my departure all I could this about was Thea. Her soft skin. Her beautiful shiny blonde hair. The way her blue eyes laid over inch of my face. I knew I made the right decision not to let my father use my powers to destroy lives. I even knew Fiona was correct in her statement that fate was not in our favor. But none of that knowledge could stop what a soul wants. My biggest ache I would always carry was having to let her go for my kingdom.

"Don't be so happy brother." Fiona said stepping up next to me. She leaned over the railing. "We still have atleast a few days before we get to the main island and...this castle is not like our own."

"I'm sure I'll get used to stiff couches and outdated pictures." I joked.

"The furnishings are the least of your worries here." Fiona's tone was ominous. "Why do you think I was so eager to be back home."

"Because of your obsession with Silas?" I replied.

She glared at me. "You know after you..died..father became even more cruel then before if you can imagine...he made life unbearable...we were wrong to take comfort in one another...but that's what we did to survive...for a while it got blurry...but I see it clearly now. I remember..who I wanted to be before all the abuse. I do regret things I've done...but I will never regret my son."

"I didn't say you should...I think in the end your messed up...relations saved you and bought us a new country."

"It did...but it's also in the past." She sighed. "I want to be a different person now...the old me if I can mixed with a good mother..and a great Queen. Can we just leave it at that? We both have a new beginning here.."

I shook my head. "Understood. I promise I won't bring it up again. Your son is my nephew and the future ruler of our new home. Nothing about his or your past will be brought up to anyone. You have my word.  But it sounds like this castle could have its own hurdles ?"

I watched Fiona's eyes raise as if she was listening for something. She glanced around nervously and then seemed to relax. "Your powers...not many would believe you without seeing them right ?" I shook my head yes. "I think that...the church barried a lot of secretes when they took over with the holy texts. Things that seem unholy or impossible...were just things they didn't want to exist anymore. I think they felt threatened by them.."

"So there's others there with powers too?" I asked. Even I'm my nearly 7 years living in hiding I had only met a handful of people like me. I had only recently learned that my powers run in the blood line. It would be nice to try and learn more.

She raised her green eyes to search mine. "No. I wish that's what it was..."

This news gave my hopes up for more answers. I began to grow frustrated. "Me of all people would believe you. Would you just spit it out."

"It's haunted." Her words chilled me.

"Like ghosts?" I asked.

"Mhmm." She crossed her arms. "It's walls contain strange...energy. "

"I wouldn't think you would be scared of a few lost spirits." I chuckled at the once fearless sister of mine.  Although I've never seen a ghosts I've sat around more then a few bonfires and heard hundreds of tales about others who had.
