Destroyer

       Ari woke up, but unlike last time he had a smile on his face, he was excited for today. Even if it was just collecting wood he was excited to spend time with Eren and Mikasa. Not only that but he also got to sleep in a little. But ironically his excitement for the day made it so that sleeping in was harder. Eventually he got up out of bed with a big smile on his face. After a little searching he found the rope above his bed and yanked it down, opening up all his windows.

After putting on a fresh pair of shorts, a t-shirt, and some socks he went down stairs. He saw his dad making breakfast, eggs and toast just like always. When they both spotted each other they smiled.

Dad: Good morning, Ari.

Ari: Good morning, Dad.

His dad paused cooking and they both gave each other their morning hug. His dad noticed he was getting squeezed extra hard this morning.

Dad: Someones excited for the day.

Ari: I am dad! Eren and Mikasa! the book Armin wants to show us! The Scouts coming ba-

Ari paused and cut himself off. He'd never really spoken to his dad about it, but a part of him really wanted to join the scouts when he got old enough. His dad noticed this, and got down on one knee in front of Ari so he could be on his level. He put a hand on his shoulder and calmly and warmly spoke to him.

Dad: Ari, you wanna join the scouts. And I'm worried about that. But if you want to then you have my blessing. Just promise me that you'll always be careful, it won't distract from your mission, and you'll still always protect those you love and those closest to you.

Ari smiled and hugged his dad again.

Ari: I promise dad.

They stayed there for a bit until his dad stood up and got back to cooking. Ari set the table and pulled up the chairs. Soon after they both enjoyed breakfast together. And after doing the dishes and cleaning up Ari got his shoes on and Bolted out the door.

Dad: Oi! Ari! you know Eren and Mikasa are not going out for wood until later right?!

Ari paused and came back to the door.

Ari: I know, I just wanna walk around, do some things!

Dad: Ok, be careful!

Ari: I always am!

Ari once again bolted as his dad chuckled to himself and shakes his head,

Dad:*chuckle* you are not.

Ari sprinted down the street at full speed saying hi to people as he passed by. This is what he loved, just moving and being free. This was his favorite thing to do on his rest days, and thanks to his endurance and stamina he's built up over a lot of time training he could do it for days on end. He found a rooftop he could climb on and started jumping and running from roof to roof. loving the wind in his face, the sun on his skin, and it gave himself a chance to show just how much his training has paid off in so many ways.

Ari remembered back to one time some nasty old lady had seen him jump on her house and she got the Garrison. He was chased by Hannes and a few other soldiers with ODM gear to deal with his "Public disturbance". Despite the fact he had no ODM gear and he was only nine he managed to evade, out run, dodge, and hide from the soldiers while running on rooftops for hours. That was until Hannes and a few other totally astounded and embarrassed soldiers finally pinned him on a rooftop next to the wall giving him no place to go. When he got home that day escorted by Hannes and with his hands bound by rope his dad was pissed. He took away his rest day for that week and made him do extra, even still Ari regretted nothing.
