Ari once again found himself in the unenviable position of waking up after a dance with unwanted unconsciousness.

Ari: uuuuuuuhhhh

His mouth was still stuffed with the gag, the same one he had on earlier.

Ari's thoughts: Shit!

His eyes widened in horror, he knew exactly where he was. The walls flew up and there were pillars dotted all everywhere. Every inch of the place was covered in bright crystals. As Ari woke up more he realized how bad his situation was. He was chained kneeling in an elevated position with his arms forced apart. Ari remembered the stories his mom and dad told him and what he had read in the books. Ari knew what happened to people who were in his spot, they were eaten.

Ari struggled against his bonds with all his strength but it was useless. His hands were wrapped in bandages making them into balls so he couldn't scratch himself. He was stuck there, he wasn't going anywhere without help. Historia then walked up in front of him, she was draped in a beautiful white dress. She looked up at him and smiled a little when she saw he was awake.

Historia: Oh Ari, you're awake, good. Look, I know things look bad but my father is a true ally of humanity. I know he's done some bad things but I promise it will be ok.

Rod: Historia, let me explain the rest.

Ari didn't like this at all, not only was he in danger he knew there was a good chance Historia was as well. Rod and Historia climbed the steps together until they were right behind Ari. The brown haired young man had to crane his neck to barely even get a look at them.

Rod: Ari, does it feel good to be back?

Ari cursed him through his gag, he also saw how Historia was looking down and not at him.

Historia: Why do we need him, father? Why does he need to be restrained like this? I know him, he's good, he wouldn't hurt me.

Rod: Historia, listen, you are special. You have the ability to save everyone....everyone. From the titans and all their fear. I'll explain everything soon, but first there's something all three of us must do.

Rod took Historia's hand and reached it forward and made contact with Ari's bare back. In an instant the memories of Ari entering this chamber on the night the wall fell flooded through Ari, Historia, and Rod. It was extremely vivid, it felt like Ari was reliving it, he swore he felt every single action he took. Especially killing the royal family. Historia was stunned, her mouth and eyes hung wide open.

Rod: Did you think you could run from it forever, Ari? Your sin.

Historia already knew about this, Ari had told her, but still just the fact she had to see it and feel it hit her hard. She took a step back and slowly she began to tear up, and Ari felt his heartsink to his stomach. But Historia was not crying because of her family, it was because of one specific dark haired young woman.

Historia: Why? Why did I forget about that until now? I was never alone, that girl was always there for me. She gave me books...Taught me how to read and write...And was kind to me when no one else was...How could I forget her.

Rod: You met Frieda?

Historia: Frieda?

Rod: If it was a young girl with long, black hair...it was most likely Frieda Reiss.

Ari knew who he was talking about, that was the girl he pulled from the founder's nape. The one he beat in the fight in this very chamber. The one he ate even as he begged her not to. Ari wished they had given him ear plugs, he didn't want to have to be forced to stomach another bad word.
