Everyone was tense as they moved under the cover of darkness through the forest, with each step they took they got closer to Shiganshina, closer to the info that lay in Eren's basement, closer to a battle that would determine the fate of humanity within the walls. Both of humanity's titans, its finest commander, best officers, immense resources, great time and care, advanced technology, were all poured into this mission. Everyone knew, this was all or nothing.

Eren and Ari were currently resting in a wagon beside flying fists and thunder spears. Even though resting sounded like a good job, neither of them could relax. They both tried to think back to the morning that they left Trost. Before they did Erwin had gathered everyone on top of the wall and delivered a rousing speech.

Erwin: Scouts, MPs, and Garrison soldiers of the expeditionary force. You are about to embark upon a great journey, towards which we have worked for 5 years to accomplish. The eyes of humanity are upon you. The hopes, prayers, thoughts, minds, and hearts of those who believe in humanity's strength are with you. You will bring about the liberation of our lost land and victory over the titans. It will not be easy, our enemy is one that defeated us many times, but this time is different. Much has happened since Maria fell 5 years ago. Our new tactics, technology, and skilfulness has shown remarkable results. Our very home has given us many resources and the advantage we have so desperately been seeking. It is time for the tide to turn in favor of humanity! I have full confidence in all of you, each of you is an amazing soldier. Give your hearts!!!!

Eren: I'm really happy you're here, Ari. Some people thought you might try and get out of it.

Ari: I wouldn't miss it.

Armin: That's a relief, there were some rumors that Historia personally made her way down and ordered you to stay.

Ari: She wouldn't do that. She was down there though.

Jean: Oh so that part was true? Why was she there anyway?

Ari: To tell me she's pregnant with our child.

Everyone's jaw hung open once again at the surprising news and the casual way he told it. They would have yelled out of excitement if they weren't under strict orders. Ari giggled under his breath at their reactions.

Andrew: Well congratulations, man.

Eren: Yeah seriously, know what you're gonna name it?

Ari: We said we would decide that after I got back. Guess that's a little extra motivation for me.

Armin: Guess so.

Everyone went back to lighting up the area as Ari kissed the ring Historia proposed to him with.

Ari: *whisper* I'll be home soon.

As the sun began to peek over the horizon they finally made it out of the forest. Their horses thundered down the hill right to Shiganshina. Everyone knew the plan, everyone knew where they had to be. The plan was simple, Eren would seal the outer gate and then the inner gate. From there any titans in the city itself would be killed. However everyone knew to be on the lookout for the armored, colossal, and beast titan who would almost certainly be there. Once it was all over Eren's basement would be investigated.

Everyone had their gas tanks on their backs just as Ari designed. The only exception was Levi who stubbornly clung to the old gear. Everyone also carried a coil of cable on their belts which was also new, again it was one of Ari's designs, the line launcher.
