Trial By Fire

Ari sent his squad away but told them to be ready at a moment's notice. Katelynn and Andrew stayed with him as he went to where Christa was. She was with Jean, Sasha, Ymir and Conny, even just walking up behind her he could see she was shaking a lot.

Christa: Any word?

Ymir: Nothing.

Conny: Last I heard Ari was commanding cadets all on his own. The order to retreat over the wall reached him and his group last.

Christa looked at the ground really scared at the premise of Ari being alone, trapped and maybe even dead in the hell that was Trost.

Sasha: Hey, it's ok, Ari's not the type of person to get himself killed.

Jean: I don't know, he can be overly bold sometimes. I mean, he took command of an entire squad. Who does that?

Everyone but Christa shot him a look that told him he wasn't helping. He promptly shut up and joined Christa in looking at the ground.

Just then Christa got a tap on her shoulder, when she turned around she saw the brown haired, hazel eyed young man that was her boyfriend. Immediately she jumped right on him and wrapped him up so tightly in her arms it actually made it a little more difficult for him to breath. She also trapped his arms as his side so he couldn't fight her unbelievably intense grip and strength at the moment.

Ari: I'm ok, Christa......You're kinda.....crushing me.

Ari gave Ymir a pleading look asking for help but she just smiled and tilted her head a little.

Christa: I was so worried, I heard you did so much, you helped us take back the HQ but I didn't see you. Now I'm just so glad your back safe and sound. I'm so relieved.

She finally dropped him and he coughed a little and drew in a huge breath of air after having his lungs squeezed for so long. He nearly collapsed on his knees but he managed to stay upright. He gave her a kiss and reassured her that he was perfectly fine. She kissed him back and said she was ok too.

Christa: What happened anyway? I heard you took a command of some kind.

Conny: Yeah what happened with that? Everyone was talking about it. Woermann was not happy.

Ari smirked, a part of him was happy he made the captain mad.

Andrew: You should have seen it, Ari was amazing out there.

Katelynn: Yeah, some Cadets came up to him and just asked if they could be placed under his command. He said yes and the rest is history, his strategy worked great.

Christa smiled at him, proud of what he did, a lot of people were petrified out there and for Ari to maintain his cool and be able to coordinate with people he didn't even know was amazing.

Ari: Well, I had to do something, and Woermann certainly wasn't.

Then they were all interrupted by Pixis giving a speech on the top of the wall. Ari actually liked him, he seemed like a competent commander, someone Ari could get behind. He explained the plan was to use Eren to hoist a massive boulder and use it to plug up the wall. The speech he gave was genuinely inspiring, the plan was solid and it could work. Eren and a small group of elites would be sent around close to the boulder while everyone else would gather on the opposite end to draw off the titans.

After the speech was over Ari went back to Christa and took a breath of relief.

Ari: Looks like the hard work for us is over. All we have to do now is just stand on the wall, attract titans, and not move.

Everyone began to file up to get ready to go on top of the wall. However just before It was Ari's turn a Garrison soldier with white hair and glasses pulled him out of line, Christa followed.
