Thanks to everything that had happened Erwin decided to Move Ari, Eren, and all the rest of Levi squad to a cabin in the woods to hopefully make them easier to hide. It was pretty small, but it could hold them all, and it was kinda cozy. Ari had begun training Eren to use his titan, meanwhile an extremely eager Hange did lots of testing on both of them. She squeezed every possible experiment she could think of out of the two young soldiers.
Ari made absolutely everything Hange could think of out of his titan. Hange actually managed to surprise Ari, with her ideas he learned new things about his titan. It was clearly something she had been working on for a while. Hange and he actually devised how to make a crossbow. It wasn't entirely new to Ari, it was something he had thought about in the past but he always thought of it as not really useful. But thanks to Hange he learned its uses, he was able to fire things like rocks, tree trucks, and even people very far away.
Also thanks to Hange he also learned that the standard swords he used were not that effective. Instead she urged him to change to a design she created to maximize his effectiveness. The design was based around an old weapon called a nichirin cleaver and they were much more useful. Their extra weight and thickness made the blows heavier and they didn't take up as much energy.
While all of this was great for Ari it wasn't so much for Eren, since on top of all of Ari's previous dedicated training he was able to easily win every sparring match he and Eren entered. They trained from sun up till sun down, all under the supervision of Hange and Levi. Everyone else meanwhile was back at the house doing things like laundry, cooking, and making sure the place was spotless for Levi.
