Mike: Shit, Ari, where are you?

Mike was in a fight for his life at the moment, somehow titans had breached wall Rose, that was the only explanation. At the moment he was trying to buy time for his squad by killing as many titans as he could. He had felled many of them but they just kept coming. He swung across a windmill and managed to kill another 9 meter.

Mike's thoughts: Four left. No, It's time to go. But I am concerned about that abnormal. It's huge. And why is it covered in fur? More than that it isn't even going for me, it's just walking around.

Mike then noticed his horse coming back and assumed it was his salvation, he wouldn't need to hold out until nightfall. Then something terrifying happened, the beast titan picked up Mike's horse and killed it.

Mike's thoughts: Shit! What the hell?!

The beast titan then threw the horse's body right at Mike and made him fall all off the roof. In the process a 4 meter titan grabbed him and was about to bite down on him and sever both of his legs.

Beast Titan: Wait.

It complied and Mike was amazed and totally mortified. The Beast asked him questions about his ODM gear and swords, Mike was too afraid to answer. So the Beast titan simply reached down and picked his ODM gear off of him and started to walk away. Mike was at a loss for words, but didn't want to abandon the fight so he drew his sword and gave out a fierce war cry. Just as the Beast Titan was turning around to finish Mike off Ari came in at full speed with his ODM and Snatched Mike off the ground and took him to hide on a nearby tall tree. Ari put his hand over Mike's mouth.

Ari: *whisper* Shhhhhhh don't make a noise.

The pair were as still as stones and they made as much noise as mice.

Beast Titan: Huh? Where did you go?

The Beast could be heard searching around a little bit, however it quickly gave up the search.

Beast Titan: Oh well, guess I lost you.

They listened to him walk away and Mike tapped Ari's hand and Ari took it away from his mouth.

Ari: Sorry, squad leader Mike.

Mike: Why the hell are you apologizing? If anything I should be thanking you.

Ari: Don't mention it, sir. What the hell is going on?

Mike: Don't know, but you need to go to Utgard castle. All your friends are there and they are gonna need support.

Ari: Yes, sir. My horse got spooked earlier so I'll have to use my titan, you can ride on my shoulder.

Ari then noticed Mike didn't have any ODM gear so he took his off and gave it to him.

Mike: I'm not going with you, and you need that ODM gear more than me.

Ari: Sir, I'm not leaving you here with no ODM when there are titans around. And to be blunt I could need backup.

Mike was about to reprimand him but he realized there was no point, he knew Ari cared about protecting people and he was not gonna obey him. So he reluctantly agreed and let Ari strap him up with ODM gear. Then Ari jumped off the tree and slashed his side with his sword and turned into the Warhammer. Mike jumped on his shoulder and Ari immediately got moving where Mike told him.

Warhammer: Did you ever think you'd be riding on a titans shoulder, sir?

Mike: Definitely not. But this is a time for strange circumstances.

A few hours later at Utgard everyone was settling in for the night, they had just finished an exhausting and confusing day. Andrew and Katelynn were sitting against a wall next to each other, Katelynn was leaning against his shoulder as they used a small corn collecting sack as a blanket. Christa was already fast asleep on the ground and Ymir just finished up a chat with Reiner. Reiner had actually matured a little since his altercation with Ari, he still wanted Christa, but he was slowly coming to accept that wasn't happening.
