After getting lost a few times they arrived at Rutel University, it was absolutely beautiful. It had a statue of its founder made of white marble at its entrance. The grounds were covered in brick pathways that were dotted with grass, flowers, and benches. The path leading up to the library itself was remarkably clear and open. That allowed them to enjoy the beautiful clear skies and fresh air. Behind the library which was showing itself to be the university's center piece were multiple classrooms, dorms, cafeterias, office buildings, and anything else a university would need.
Paradise had schools, colleges, universities, and other places for learning, but they all paled in comparison to this. After they all finished gawking they made their way down the long path to the library.
Ari: Wow, this place is amazing. If it wasn't in Marley, I'd probably want to send Talia here.
Andrew: You said it pal, I kinda wanna go here.
Katelynn: Just imagine what kinda things are taught here.
Armin: And just imagine how much smarter the lessons make you.
After they entered the library they were once again flabbergasted, the book shelves all stretched up to the tops of the high ceilings . They were so tall that there were ladders attached to help people reach books. Ari was in heaven, he felt like a child again. He turned around and addressed everyone.
Ari: Ok, listen up, we've only got limited time here so let's make the most of it. Andrew, I want you looking for books on current politics, Katelynn you're on history, Armin mathematics and science.
Andrew: Do I even need to ask where you're headed?
Ari: Nope. I'm gonna dive into the engineering section.
Katelynn: Historia will be crushed that your eyes are starting to wonder to books.
Ari laughed a little.
Ari: She will understand, I'm sure she will. Ok, now let's get moving. Write down where you get the books and the names of important ones. If I never make it out, tell my wife and kid I love them. Now go!
Everyone split up to get as many books down from the shelf and read as quickly as possible. Each of them had a notepad to write down any vital information they found. The other people at the library mostly were students and a few others, everyone gave them confused looks. But in the end all the four were there to do was read and it was a library.
After only about 10 minutes Ari had stacked up about 20 books and found a table and began reading with intensity. He was lost in his book in a matter of moments. Even though Ari didn't notice he was soon joined at his table by his three friends who had each grabbed many books themselves and began reading. Everything in the books was nearly totally new to all of them, with each word their knowledge and amazement grew ever larger.
Armin jotted down important mathematical formulas and science facts and chemical formulas, Katelynn wrote down important historical events, Andrew summarized how governmental structures worked and their dynamics, Ari got down every fact he could down on his notes. As the hours ticked by their notebooks began to resemble books themselves as each page was filled to the brim with notes. It got to the point where they had to borrow pencils and pens from students because their own were so worn down.
Ari was basically lost in the sky as the hours ticked by. One book in particular really grabbed his attention more than the others was a book on powering things via pistons. Ari reasoned that this technology combined with the combustion of fuel, notably Paradise's rare resource, could and would create propulsion. This could lead to all kinds of amazing things, but one thing in particular made Ari's dreams soar. A vehicle of some kind that could take to the skies, not a blimp like Marley used, but something better. Something more advanced that could give them a huge advantage. Ari envisioned a fast moving, piston powered, winged, airplane.
