Storm

It was time, the 57th expedition beyond the wall was here. Everyone was prepped and everyone knew where they had to be. Even still, no one could shake the feeling that this one was different from all the others. With Eren there who knew what would happen, everyone could feel something in the air, it was irregular but no one could quite place what it was. Ari felt it more than anyone, if it came down to it he was prepared to transform and do anything that needed to be done. Ari was placed with Andrew and Katelynn and a few others, conveniently he was also placed next to Levi squad.

Now everyone was on their horses and lined up inside Karanes district ready to go as soon as the gate opened. The mood was tense but determined, this was it, Ari's first expedition with the Scouts.

Erwin: This is it! Humanity is about to take another step forward!

The gate began to open and everyone let out a war cry.

Erwin: FORWARD!

Everyone charged out of the gate and into titan territory at full speed, ready to take on anything that stood in their way. As soon as there was enough space they formed up into their formation and began popping flares.

Ari: Two seven meters on the left!

Ari and Andrew jumped on their horses backs and then both leapt over and zipped past the two titans. Their napes were slashed and both fell to the ground, Andrew and Ari got back on their horses and continued on. Andrew and Katelynn high fived each other and celebrated just a little bit. That was until their commander got them back in line.

Mike: Focus up, all three of you!

His advice was spot on as soon after A 10 meter came out of nowhere and started closing fast. Ari immediately popped a red flair and everyone moved to avoid it. That was one of the things Ari admired most about this tactic of Erwins, it was flexible. It didn't force them into just one spot and it allowed them to escape. It continued like that for a while, Ari managed to rack up two more kills, Katelynn got a few as well. However they soon began to approach a massive forest that had absolutely humongous trees. It soon began to become clear that if they kept going then they would slam into it.

Mike: Ok, Andrew! Katelynn! get ready, we are going to swing around and meet up with the formation on the other side.

Ari: Yes, sir!

Mike: Not you, Ari! I'm sending you to join Levi squad.

Before Ari could even begin to question that strange order Katelynn made a call out.

Katelynn: Black flare on the right! Abnormal incoming!

Ari looked over and was stunned, it was not abnormal, it was the Female Titan. Ari recognized it immediately based on what he had studied as a kid, he knew its abilities and how deadly it could be. But the one thing he didn't know was who was in it's nape. It was headed right for them, Mike drew his swords and ordered Andrew and Katelynn to do the same.

Mike: Ari, head South-West and link up with Levi squad now! We will distract that thing!

Ari: Yes, sir! Andrew and Katelynn good luck!

Ari pulled back and sweeped behind the female titan, as he did Ari looked it right in the eye after it looked over its shoulder. Horrifically after it made eye contact with him it stopped and changed direction. It started running right at him as Ari made his horse go as fast as he could. He maneuvered right between the titans fingers as it tried to grab him. Then just as the female was about to try and crush him, but a black flare fired by Mike hit it right in one of its eyes. making it tumble over and giving Ari a chance to escape or at least to get a head start on it.
