Night came along, and the crowds started to grow thinner and thinner.

"We need a place to hide," Swordtail said as all the dragons left. "Somewhere no one looks in."

"I have the perfect place to hide," Cricket declared. Jasmin threw off her cloak and shook the headdress off like it was an annoying bug.

"It better be perfect, because I'm already feeling grumpy and unnerved by all of this," She grumbled, shaking out her wings and finally letting furious red overtake her scales. "I hate glitter and bazaars. The Glitterbazaar was my worst nightmare."

"Well, I'm not sure whether you'll feel better about it," Cricket walked over to a house with a huge, dusty water tank right in front of it.

Jasmin shivered as she saw a poster that said:

Wanted, dead or alive

A runaway SilkWing, dangerous flamesilk, and HiveWing.

Below the words was a picture of Blue, Cricket, and Swordtail.

But no Sundew, Jasmin realized. Probably because she doesn't want anyone to know that a LeafWing got into the most LeafWing-proof place in Pantala.

"This place." Cricket flew up and onto the water tank. "It's where me and my sister used to hide in."

"It looks sturdy, and by the look of it, not closely looked after by HiveWings," Jasmin circled the structure and landed silently next to Cricket. "A good hiding spot."

"Won't the dragon in that house see us?" Blue asked, scrambling onto the water-filled tank.

"She might," The HiveWing's wings trembled. "But I think not."

"Do you know this dragon?" Sundew narrowed her eyes, thumping down on the structure.

"Yes." Cricket took a deep breath. "Cadelle. My mother."

They all climbed down into the water tank, where there was a large area at the top that was free from water. Jasmin stayed above with Cricket, watching out for anyone.

Jasmin glanced at the house, where she spotted a shadow of a dragon, chest moving up, then falling slowly. Cadelle was asleep. The hybrid took a double take at the balcony, where she thought she saw something moving.

"I think there's someone breaking in," She reported. "Two dragons, both HiveWings."

One of the dragons, hiding in the shadows, was waiting, her tail thumping the floor impatiently, while the other, smaller dragon fiddled with the lock.

Cricket let out a gasp.

"That's Katydid!" She whispered. "My sister! Why's she breaking into our mother's house?"
