Jasmin could not believe it.

She was imprisoned.

By some dumb HiveWings.

To save a LeafWing she didn't know anything about.

This was one of her most stupid plans yet. She was currently chained to a wall in a cage with thick metal bars.

I can't believe myself, Jasmin thought angrily for the tenth time in the last hour. Deathbringer would be disappointed. I've just landed myself in a cage by two mind-controlled dragons. Just two! What was I even thinking?

Not that she really cared about what Deathbringer would say about. But she could still imagine what he'd say.

Not like you to be stuck in a small prison for an hour, He'd smirk. I expected more from a dragon I'd trained myself.

"Shut up." Jasmin muttered. I must be crazy, talking to a dragon I hate, who's also, by the way, a whole continent away from me.

"I see you're still here." She looked up to find a HiveWing with shiny yellow scales and straight, pure black stripes.

Like a wasp, Jasmin realized. This is Wasp's actual self. If I kill her right now, everyone will be safe.

"You won't be able to kill me." Wasp laughed as if she could read her mind. "Because you don't have your precious knife with you, and I put metal around that tail of yours.

I still have my venom, Jasmin thought. But even if I shoot her, I won't be able to get out of these chains. And they'd chain my mouth shut, too.

"I can fight with my claws," She snarled instead. "I can snap your neck in a second."

"You can't," Wasp said gleefully. "Because you're chained to the wall. I bet those arms are feeling awfully numb by now."

That was horribly true. While her tail was in a metal device that made it harmless, her arms were hung to the wall in a way that made Jasmin droop to the ground. Her wings were, thankfully, untouched.

"Oh, who's knife was this?" Wasp reached inside a pouch to reveal her knife. "I had a soldier remove that rock out of the handle; she's in the hospital right now, in fact. But safer for me to use."

"For what?" Jasmin asked, but she had already guessed what was happening.

"To torture you." Wasp grinned, showing her sharp teeth, before stabbing the knife into the hybrid's shoulder.
