"Luna wasn't here. She isn't here," Swordtail sighed sadly. "She must have survived, right?"
No one answered. Jasmin thought that it was likely that Luna had died in the storm. After all, she'd barely managed to land here.
"Where do we go now?" She asked Sundew.
"I think we should go see Lady Scarab," Cricket said unexpectedly. "She's the oldest dragon out of everyone else, so she must know how the queens before Queen Wasp controlled the HiveWings, right? And I want to know whether Katydid is...alright."
Jasmin remembered that Katydid could be nothing related to the HiveWing dragonet.
"Sure. It'll be useful," Sundew glanced around. They were near the water tower again, and Cricket escorted them to a huge mansion, where thousands of dragons laughed and danced along to music. SilkWings made drinks for the HiveWings, but Jasmin noticed that no one went inside the mansion.
"That's Lady Scarab's house," Cricket whispered. "Come on, let's go."
She walked casually into the crowd of dragons, and Blue, Swordtail, and Sundew followed. Jasmin hesitated before flashing back to invisible and flying over their heads.
After a while of partying and talking, the HiveWings in the crowd suddenly went silent, their heads snapped up high and their postures straight.
Their eyes were an emotionless white.
Cricket quickly ducked her head so that her veil covered her eyes.
Jasmin held her breath as two HiveWings marched up to the door of the mansion. Lady Scarab emerged, her striped wings buzzing with annoyance. She couldn't hear their conversation, but Jasmin could certainly see that she was angry.
Suddenly, a HiveWing with gold and orange scales that were speckled with black walked out of Lady Scarab's house, and the guards marched her away. She followed without hesitation.
By now, all the HiveWing's eyes were back to normal, and many of them fled. Cricket whispered something to Swordtail, Blue, and Sundew, looked around for Jasmin, confused, and hurried towards Lady Scarab's mansion. Jasmin flew after her.
The HiveWing dragonet knocked on the door, and Lady Scarab opened it. She let Cricket in, holding the door wide open.
Jasmin frowned, and turned back to Blue, Swordtail, and Sundew.
