"It's unlocked," Jasmin called softly as she turned the key. The door opened with a click!
"Come on," Sundew whispered, glancing back, and swept into the massive library. "I think I hear dragons."
Sure enough, Jasmin could hear voices quietly arguing.
"They aren't very sneaky for a secret undercover group that are planning to overthrow Queen Wasp," Cricket noted. "Are you sure we're in the right place?"
"I'm positive," Swordtail straightened up, and walked straight inside a cozy room with many pillows and beanbags and lots of blankets.
"AAAAHHH!" Jasmin peeked inside, making her scales invisible just in case they see her. Three SilkWings sat in a bundle of pillows, their wings trembling with fright.
"I knew they'd find us here!" One, who's scales were a dark orange with even darker wings and red underscales, whispered. She looked almost like a HiveWing, except there were no black scales on her body.
"Wait! It's me! I'm part of the Chrysalis in Cicada Hive!" Swordtail yelped, holding his arms up.
"And me!" Blue piped up, going in through the door.
"The runaway flamesilk!" Another SilkWing, this one male, exclaimed. He was a bright, neon blue, and Jasmin had to blink several times before getting used to his unusually bright colors. She saw large patches of white dotting his tail.
"Cricket?" Blue glanced back. The HiveWing dragonet hesitated, then jerkily stepped into the room.
"A HiveWing!" The orange SilkWing screamed, shoveling deeper into the pile of soft pillows. "Hide!"
The third dragon, a pale yellow SilkWing, burrowed in next to her. Jasmin noticed that one of her back wings were smaller than the other, sticking out in an awkward angle. She let out a whimper, digging backwards until she was almost out of sight.
"She's already seen us, you idiots!" The bright blue dragon snapped. He turned to Cricket. "We're not afraid of you, you monster!"
"She's on our side!" Blue cried. "Cricket's a friend!"
"Friends don't turn each other in because an evil queen invades their brain!" The pale yellow dragon squeaked.
"But it doesn't happen to her!" Swordtail put in. "Queen Wasp can't control her!"
