"Sundew?" A LeafWing with golden scales scattered on her forest-green body looked up from a conversation. Her mouth curled up to form a snarl. "And you brought two HiveWings into the jungle! What were you thinking?"

"And what about you?" Sundew snapped. "You said that you wouldn't attack the HiveWings until I gave you information."

"Oh, but we all know that it won't happen." The LeafWing's face was sour.

"We found out how Wasp is controlling the HiveWings. We have the evidence." Jasmin could see the anger boiling in Sundew's head. She dug through her leaf pouches to take out the piece of the plant they'd gotten. "Do you know this?"

"No." The LeafWing said flatly, but Jasmin could see that she was lying.

"She's lying," The hybrid whispered to Sundew. "She knows what it is. But don't question it, or we might not get answers."

Sundew nodded. A LeafWing who had brown wings and dark green scales suddenly let out a gasp.

"What is that?" He pointed at Jasmin. The other LeafWings peered at her, whispering and muttering to each other.

"'That' happens to be a dangerous assassin that could break your little necks in a heartbeat," She felt the knife's weight hanging on her neck, tied on with a sturdy yet thin vine. The sheath was disguised with various black flowers that she'd found, looking very much unlike a knife sheath. "So watch out."

"Two wings," A LeafWing with pink streaks murmured. "But they aren't like ours. And there's no black on her scales."

"Definitely not a SilkWing," Another added. "A SilkWing's colors are way different. They also have antennae and don't really look...too..."

"Dangerously annoyed?" Jasmin suggested, her ruff flared out and streaked with volcanic colors. Swordtail snorted. "Look, let's stop ogling at me like a dragonet and start working."

"We need to stay here for a bit," Sundew explained. "This place is the only place we can be safe."

"Brilliant idea, Sundew." The first LeafWing smiled, but Jasmin noticed the clever glint in her eyes. "Luring the enemy into LeafWing territory, and guarding them is a great plan."

"What?" Cricket cried.

"But- why?" Blue asked pitifully. Jasmin could see her own rage reflected in Sundew's eyes.

"That's not what I said!" The LeafWing dragonet roared. "And you know it, Belladonna."

"Take them away." Belladonna waved her talon at them dismissively. "And prepare for the feast."

A LeafWing reached out to grab Jasmin, but she snarled, flicking her tail-barb close to his heart.

"Touch me, and you die."
