Jasmin winced as Winter accidentally brushed past her shoulder.

"Watch it!" She growled.

"Sorry," Winter muttered. He dropped his voice to a low whisper. "Why is that SandWing looking at you?"

"What SandWing?" Jasmin turned to see a SandWing with dark freckled wings and longing black eyes.

Coyote.

Jasmin went towards her father without another word. Coyote unfurled his wings and wrapped them around her tightly. She held onto him, afraid that someone might come over and swoop him away like they did two or three years ago.

"I missed you," Jasmin said. "Never stay away for so long."

"I won't," Coyote whispered. "I escaped the NightWings a year ago, but I was afraid that you wouldn't remember or love me-"

"Never," She shook her head fiercely. "I'd never forget you or stop loving you or anything."

"And speaking of me, I want you to meet- well you've already met him- your half-brother." Coyote unraveled his hug. "As siblings, not enemies."

Jasmin saw Deathbringer shifting awkwardly besides Coyote.

"Hi," Jasmin said.

"Hi." He grinned slightly. "Long time no see?"

"As if." She snorted. "I saw you literally a few weeks ago. Or was that a month? I don't remember."

"Well, I don't care if it was," Deathbringer shrugged.

"You knew this all along, didn't you?" Jasmin asked.

"Yeah."

"Stupid rock-headed NightWing," She muttered.

"Hey, that's not how you're supposed to talk to your superior older half-brother who's like twice your size and age," Deathbringer had a glimmer to his eyes. "Or your former teacher."

"Oh come on," Jasmin protested. "I had exactly two years of training from you. That's not a lot."

"It isn't," He agreed. "Want to learn about how to paralyze someone with a dagger?"

"Gladly, after I say goodbye to my friends."

After a quick farewell, Jasmin and Deathbringer walked back through the tunnel, talking about the assassination expeditions they'd went on alone, and discussing new techniques, with Coyote staring right after them, a smile on his snout.
