Saturday felt great, especially in the mornings. Sonic stretched his arms and legs as he woke up. He loved sleeping in more than anything, and Saturdays always supported that. The only downsides were his messy quills and blurry vision in the morning but that was a temporary price he was willing to pay.
He slipped on a pair of sweat pants and walked out of his rooms, socked feet being dragged against the floor. He was expecting to go into the kitchen and make himself some food, no questions asked, but he was met with an odd sight.
Shadow Robotnik was standing in the short hallway, fixing himself up with his black helmet underneath his arm. He wore a black and red coat like jacket, and black gloves. Sonic looked at Shadow in confusion.
"Hey Shadow... Going to a costume party?" He asked. Shadow turned to Sonic in the most elegant way he's ever seen. Seeing Sonic in his current state made him smirk, concealing a laugh.
"Good morning to you as well, Sonic. I see you slept well?" Sonic looked like he had stopped working, as if his brain got blue screened.
He blushed a bit, realizing he forgot to put on a shirt and that his quills and fur were a mess, but it was too late to do anything about it. He sheepishly smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, I did. So, what's with the get-up?" Sonic asked, still curious. Shadow thought for a moment, considering his words carefully.
"Would it sound condescending if I told you I've got places to be?"
"If I didn't know you, it would." Sonic said. Shadow narrowed his eyes a bit, a brow raised as he watched Sonic sit down on the couch.
"You don't know me."
"I know you're name and I see you as a friend. To me, that's knowing you." He said. Shadow stayed silent. He didn't think Sonic saw him as a friend already, considering they've only known each other for less than four days. He smiled at the thought of them being friends.
Shadow wanted to say something but when he looked back at the couch, Sonic had seemingly disappeared. He put on his helmet and thought nothing of it. When he exited the dormitory, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to be met with Sonic.
He wore a green jacket and blue jeans, as well as red sneakers. Shadow took off his helmet and looked his counterpart up and down quickly, confusion raising in his face.
"What's with the get-up?" Shadow asked. Sonic's quills were combed how they usually were and he didn't look reminiscent of the mess he was earlier that day. His shoulders shrugged as he smiled.
"I want to accompany you. I don't want to be left by my lonesome, you know?" Shadow was left flabbergasted with Sonic's words.
"What about you friends?"
"They are off elsewhere. Plus, I'm bored and want to know what you're up to."
Shadow knew he was running late to where he needed to go, so he just let Sonic accompany him to the parking lot.
There, parked near the exit was a red and black motorcycle. The polish was very beautiful and it all looked so new. Sonic was astonished with it and he couldn't help stop and stare at it. Meanwhile, Shadow climbed on to it and began to start the engine. He looked at Sonic and motioned he got on.
Sonic climbed on and as soon as Shadow began to speed out on to the road, his arms found themselves around Shadows waist, holding on to dear life.
