Sonadow: Coincidence

Chapter 21: New year, new plot

It was February the next year. Shadow had still not told Sonic how he truly felt but that wasn't a worry right now. In fact, Mephiles was spotted again and the trio of hedgehogs was standing together in the S1 office room.

"Since January Mephiles attacks have become more frequent. We have to do something before he does something even worse." Silver began, walking back and forth in a nervous manner. Sonic and Shadow stood near him, watching him pace around.
"So, you two will have to lure him to the Tilted Towers Prison. He obviously won't let himself get caught so we need to play a game of cat and mouse. But..." He paused for a moment, his face scrunching up.

"The Tilted Towers Prison is on an island. I'm not sure how we will get him there." Silver sighed. The room fell quiet. How were they supposed to do it? Mephiles had the ability to use smoke bombs as a way of traveling, however weird that was.
"Maybe..." Sonic said while in thought.
"Maybe we can lure him into a boat chase to the island."
"And once there we could disarm him from his bombs, guns and other." Shadow added, liking the idea Sonic came up with. Silver perked up for a moment, his ears twitching as he thought about the idea.
"This... Could actually work. But we'd only have one chance and you have no idea where the prison is. I could bring you there next month so you understand where to go."

Silver then nodded to himself, turning his back to his brother and to his colleague.
"Good. We have a plan then. I'll prepare boats for you. They should be disposable by the end of March." They took that as a sign of dismissal and left.

Both hedgehogs stood in the elevator in a silence before Sonic began to speak.
"Your cousin is a real hand full, ya know? Someone ought to put him on a leash, jeez." Shadow chuckled a bit at the statement Sonic had set. He agreed by nodding his head before speaking.
"I must say he's a a handful indeed. But soon he won't be an issue for us anymore."
"Yeah..." Sonic looked at Shadow's chest. He was still wearing the green emerald necklace from Christmas. It really popped, considering Shadow mainly wore dark colors. A smile spread across his face as he looked back at the doors of the elevator opening.
