Chapter 09: Mr Robotnik and who?

Wednesday came and went and before either of them new it, they were sitting on the couch starring at a wall with only a clock to entertain their vision.
"You know, we should get a TV or something." Sonic commented after he yawned. Shadow agreed before checking his phone. He muttered something quickly beneath his breath as his eyes went wide.
"Shadow,cometotheRCbuilding.Fatherishere...?" Sonic looked at Shadow in confusion.

"Sonic, grab a jacket, we're going to Robo-Corp."
"Eh!? But what- why??"
"There's someone important there, so something important must have happened."
The two raced down and out the building once more and both hopped on to the black and red motorcycle.

They drove to the big gray building they worked at on weekends on a weekday, what do you know? They got there as quick as possible and got into the elevator.
"Alright, care to explain what the hell is going on!?" Sonic asked as he saw Shadow's panicked expression. Shadow breathed in before turning to Sonic. Be placed his hands on the blue hedgehogs shoulders and looked at him with the most serious expression ever.

"You listen Sonic, and listen to me good. My father never comes here on such a short notice, and when he does Silver doesn't bother informing me. That means something important is happening and neither of us are ready for whatever it is they are about to tell us." Shadow sounded genuinely afraid of what was about to happen and that worried Sonic.

The duo walked out of the elevator and into a room Sonic hadn't seen before. It read : I.V.O. . They entered and saw everyone inside. But someone new was in there as well. A large man with a big mustache stood next to Silver. 'That must be Mr Robotnik, aka their dad. Dang they look nothing alike', Sonic thought.

"Now that everyone is assembled, the meeting can commence." Silver said. Mr Robotnik cleared his throat.

"As you may know, my sons Silver and Shadow have a cousin named Mephiles. He is a menace, insane lad ever since he left the womb. When he turned eight he was send to an insane asylum. However, recently he has escaped and is now on the loose here in Green Hills. According to eye witnesses, he's got lethal weapons on him and is a threat to whoever comes in contact with him. We need to do our damn best to capture him and put him back. So keep out an eye for a hedgehog who's a dark gray colour. All of you are dismissed."

Everyone left the room and Sonic and Shadow left the building.
"I'm sorry, but since when do you have an insane cousin??"
"Since I was born. By the time I was three he was sent away. Believe me when I tell you that he is the absolute worse. Fuck that, now he's probably even worse. He must have killed someone by now if he's armed... Especially with a gun or something."
"What exactly are we dealing with?" Sonic asked, sincerely worried. Shadow sighed as the two got on the motorcycle.

"A life or death situation at this point."
