Sonadow: Coincidence

Chapter 16: POV: You're snowed in

Classes had ended for the day.
Sonic starred out the window of the dorm room. His hands held a black mug filled to the brim with hot chocolate that Shadow so generously made for him. He sipped from it as he watched the ice crystals fall from the sky and accumulate on the ground in piles of white.
"The forecast says it's supposed to snow all week and the week on top. We'll probably have a white Halloween." Shadow mumbled from behind his blue companion, eyes glued onto his phone.
"Do you think we could get snowed in?" Sonic asked. Shadow shrugged and put down his phone, taking a sip from his own mug.

"I'm not sure. I would be impressed if it maneged to snow that much over night. It's very unlikely though."
"The possibility isn't zero though, right?" Sonic asked as he turned around to see the dark hedgehog behind him, tilting his own head. Shadow starred at the window for a moment.
"Nope. We'll see tomorrow."

Hours had passed by and Sonic slept soundly on the couch, a Halloween movie playing on Shadow's laptop that sat on the coffee table. Shadow was sitting on one of the kitchen counters. He looked out the kitchen window to see the snow piled up high on the windowsill. By high we are talking about covering the window. All was white from what he could see.
"Well, Sonic." He said, knowing full well the other hedgehog was asleep. He turned to face the couch.
"You were right. We will probably get snowed in."

The next day started off quite early. Shadow was sleeping on his bed, the covers over his head. The room was dark and quiet, the only sounds audible being his breathing. The eerie sound of a door creaking open was heard in the room as a warm light creeped in. Shadow didn't bother moving as the covers protected him from said lights. Steps approached his bed and stopped in front of him. A hand took the covers off of his head. Nothing else happened, until...

"CAN YOU FEEL LIFE MOVING THROUGH YOUR MIND!? OOOH LOOKS LIKE IT CAME BACK FOR MORE!! YEAH YEAH YEAH! CAN YOU FEEL TIME SLIPPING DOWN YOUR SPINE!? OH YOU TRY AND TRY TO IGNORE!!! YEAAH!!" Shadow fell out of his bed with a yell, the loudness of Sonic's singing scaring him awake. He bonked his head against the floor, creating a large thud.

"Oow! Sonic, what the hell..?" Shadow asked as he sat up, tangled in his bedsheets. He scratched the top of his head as it pained him. Sonic knelt down and rubbed Shadow's head, trying to help ease the pain away.
"Sorry Shadz, I didn't mean for you to get hurt. But we ended up getting snowed in! The teachers sent a message around telling us to take the days off until the snow melts away or they can remove it." Shadow nodded and tried not to lean into the Sonic's touch.
"Hmm... You do realize that also means we can't leave the dormitory and have to make due with what we have, right?"

"Uh, yeah, duh, of course!" Sonic said, his wrist limping as he waved Shadow off in dismissal. Shadow raised a brow.
"You didn't know."
"Haha...I didn't."
