Sonadow: Coincidence

Chapter 30: Party time, buster!

Sonic dragged Shadow up the stairs to Knuckles dorm room. Shadow was basically sweating buckets and he felt as though he would pass out.
"Shadow! What's wrong? You look like you saw a ghost." Sonic said, ignoring the irony of him being dressed as a ghost. Shadow grabbed on to Sonics arms for stability. His legs were shaking like the ones of a scared chicken.
"I'm nervous. What if people judge? What if I get drunk and do something stupid!? What- what if-" Shadow was cut off mid sentence.

Sonic had wrapped his arms around the other hedgehogs neck, hugging him tightly but not enough to choke him. Shadow hugged back and felt comforted. Under different circumstances, he would definitely not mind hugs like this. The two separated from the hug and Sonic put his hands on Shadow's shoulders.
"Shadow, listen to me. You'll be fine. You have me, and if someone judges or does anything to you, then Knuckles will have to kick me out for giving someone an uppercut." He said in a serious tone. Shadow blushed and nodded before they went back to walking to Knuckles' dorm.

Inside it was dark. Filled to the brim was the room with college students. LED rave lights were pulsating in the room as well as loud music. The dorm reeked of beer and food, as well as cigarettes. Soon, they were greeted by Knuckles and... Rouge!?
"Rouge? What are you...?" Shadow asked, his head tilting to the side.
"Shadow! I see you've met Knuckles, given you are here. I met him last year while trick or treating." She said to the dark hedgehog.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's party!' Knuckles said while being dragged away by Rouge who covered his face with kisses, disappearing in the crowd.

The college duo danced with each other on the floor, singing to songs they knew the lyrics to and laughing. Eventually, they got tired of being on the dance floor and walked off to the side, to the drink and food table. While Sonic drank a bottle of water, Shadow sipped on some wine. Sonic watched the striped hedgehog for a moment. He looked like a real vampire sipping on some blood. He looked really attractive. The thought made Sonic blush and keep drinking his water, distracting himself from the sight and the thought.

Soon enough, the party became boring. Young adults were tripping over themselves, girls and guys took up the rooms for unholy deeds, watching your step became mandatory if you didn't want to step in vomit or on a passed out drunk and the food table was empty, down to the last crumb or sip.
"Welp, that's that." Sonic said as he grabbed Shadow's hand, manoeuvring his way passed the mass of mobians.

Once they were out of the dark and loud environment, they sighed in relief.
"I thought that would never end." Shadow said, a smile poking at the corners of his mouth as the two walked hand in hand to their dorm. Sonic hummed in agreement. He intertwined their fingers and to his relief, Shadow didn't seem to notice. When they got to their dorm, they both fell on to the couch. Right there, without even bothering to kick off their shoes, they slept on the couch in each others embrace.
