The sky was a golden color. Laughter filled the air as two wine glasses clicked at their contact.

Sonic and Shadow were at their safe haven, drinking some wine to close off the last day of their summer break. It was actually their second to last day, but they thought it would be fun to celebrate privately the day before in case they ended up drinking. Which they did. They laughed and we reminiscing on their first year of college. They were tipsy at best.
"To a better year!" Shadow giggled as he lifted his glass to his lips, half lidded eyes glancing at his blue counterpart. Sonic chuckled and agreed, sipping from his own glass. They drank more wine, glass after glass.

Eventually they got so drunk, they let it get the best of them.
"Hey *hic!* S-Sonic!"
"Y-*hic* yeah Shadz?"
"I fuckin' love*hic*you."
"I love you too*hic*." They laughed more and filled another glass of red alcohol.
"To our love!" Sonic smiled and chugged the glass.
"To our love!" Shadow confirmed, drinking his glass as well.

Soon, they drank enough for the two to lay on the grassy floor. The wineglasses were discarded on the ground, along with the bottles. The boys brought a plastic bag to clean the mess the next morning.

Shadow was on the ground with Sonic laying in his arms. The black leather jacket that the ebony hedgehog often wore was over the two, keeping them warm as they were on the floor.
"I really love you, you know?" Shadow asked again, still drunk out of his mind. Sonic replied, also drunk.
"I really love you too, Shadow."

Then they passed out.

The following morning, Shadow woke up with a massive head ache. He remembered nothing other than them drinking a couple glasses. He sat up to see Sonic curled up in a ball, his jacket cover the azure blur. Shadow smiled at the sight before standing up and deciding to clean up the mess of bottles on the floor. He put them all in the bag they brought earlier. Shadow looked down at Sonic. The ebony hedgehog tried to shake him awake, but to no avail. He just kept sleeping.

"You're a deep sleeper, huh Sonic?" Shadow whispered, to which Sonic replied with a snore. Shadow sighed and attached the bag to his belt before picking up Sonic bridal style. The azure hedgehog was surprisingly light. He walked them to the outside of the forest. Shadow managed to get Sonic on the motorcycle and drive the two to their dorm.

At the campus, Shadow lifted Sonic into his arms again and brought him to the dorm. While walking up the stairs, Sonic stirred awake. He clung his arms around Shadow's neck and nuzzled into his shoulder, only to fall back asleep. Shadow blushed but kept going, knowing this meant nothing and it was just Sonic being tired.

In the dorm, Shadow placed Sonic on the couch. He didn't bring him to his room because he wanted to make sure he could check up on his classmate. But before he could leave, a hand grabbed his own.

"Hmm.. Good morning, Shadz." The blue blur said, a small smile on his face. Shadow returned the smile.
"Good morning, Sonic."
