Sonadow: Coincidence

Chapter 31: Following morning

Sonic woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs being cooked. He noticed he was no longer wearing the white cape, his shoes or his gloves. A blanket was covering his body and a pillow was beneath his head. He sat up and rubbed his head. It was pounding a bit from all the noise of yesterday's party. Sonic looked to the kitchen and saw the back of Shadows head. He didn't seem to have noticed the azure one waking up until his peach colored belly began to rumble in hunger.

"Good morning, Sonic." He said, turning his head to the hungry hedgehog.
"Good morning, Shadow. Is that bacon I smell?" He asked a smile spread across his face. Shadow hummed in confirmation as he prepared a set of plates of bacon, eggs and buttered toast for himself and his friend. Shadow brought the plate to Sonic who took it gleefully. They eat away at their breakfast while listening to the birds outside.

After breakfast, they decided to get changed into some more comfortable clothes, as they both were still dressed in their Halloween costumes to some extent. The two met up in the living room.
Sonic wore a pair of light gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt as well as red socks.
Shadow wore a gray shirt, a black sweatpants and green socks.
They sat on the couch, starring at the still empty wall.

"I'm bored." The blue hedgehog said. Shadow looked at the clock attached to their wall.
"Three minutes have not even passed." Shadow said in disappointment. Then he realized that he could tell Sonic his feelings! After all, what could go wrong?
"Hey Sonic, there's something I've been meaning to ask."
"Yeah?"
"Well-" Before Shadow could finish his sentence, someone rung the doorbell. The black and red stripped hedgehog felt as though his soul had left his body.
"I'll get it." Sonic offered, stood up and got the door.

'Great Shadow, that timing was awful.' He thought to himself before the blue one returned and sat down.
"Just some ding-dong-ditchers. I didn't even know those still existed."
"Y-yeah."
"So, what were you going to tell me?" The emerald eyes of the blue hedgehog starred right into Shadow's red ones. He became nervous and tried to think of something to say.
"Um, I wanted to know if you wanted to make... Um... Some home made ice cream sandwiches...?" 'Really? That's all you could come up with? Shame on you, Robotnik!' Shadow was hopeful of Sonic not catching on to his cover-up.

He grabbed the ebony hedgehog's hand and dragged him to the kitchen.
"Say no more. We are making ice cream sandwiches!" This made Shadow sigh in relief, the cover up had worked flawlessly.
