"I have to enter the Nag Lok. Please let us go."

They both were begging to enter the prohibited territory of Nag Lok. Both of them were looking worried too.

The guards were stopping them at the entrance. One guard went eagerly to inform King Basuki, the king of Nag clan.

He welcomed both Chitrangada and her son, Babrubahan wholeheartedly.

"Come, my dearest child, tell me what is your problem." He insisted to know.

She told him everything. He gasped in shock. He was also worried for the wellbeing of his son-in-law. He let both of them enter into the private chamber of his daughter, Ulupi.

Ulupi, his daughter, was then, in the private bedroom chamber, talking with her mother, Queen Bishabahini.

"Daughter, forget about it. It was just a coincident." Her mother was telling her.

But Ulupi was not in listening mood. Usually she was an obedient girl, but when she got angry, she did not come into the mood of listening.

"Mother, I am telling you that it is a bad omen. The fluttering of my left eye is really a baf omen. See. See. It is still fluttering." She showed her left eye to her mother.

"Nonsense. He left you 20 yrs ago and till now you think only about him. Why don't you forget him? Even his child is not with you now. Why don't you leave him and marry someone else. In Nag Lok it was not forbidden too." Her mother tried to convince her.

"Mate (mother), stop it. I am already married. And I love my husband very much. Stop pestering me against him. I will never leave him in this life." Her daughter, Ulupi, told her firmly.

"But, daughter, listen to me. Chandok is still waiting for you." Bishabahini was still trying to pester her.

"Mother, stop it. Chandok is already married to Daman. Why do you want to destroy her marital bliss?!!" Ulupi, her daughter, was scolding her.

But the queen Bishabahini was a true snake queen. She was not stopping to poison her daughter's mind even against her husband. She was still determined to marry her daughter to Chandok. By hook or by crook.
....

"Didi (sister), I beg you to save him."

Chitrangada touched her feet. Ulupi was taken aback. But she was a sharp minded girl. Even if she did not see the face of Chitra clearly at her and Arjuna's wedding day but her razor sharp intellect was telling her that it was none but Chitrangada.

She looked irritated but soft in heart. She was not showing it to Chitra. She asked her "Who are you? What you want? What are you talking about?"

"Didi (sister), I am.." Chitra opened her mouth but Ulupi signalled her to stop.

"I know you, Chitra. You are my young sister. My husband's third wife. I had seen you 20 yrs ago." She answered it.

"You know me?!! But how?!!" Chitra asked her in surprise.

"Yes. I had seen you on your wedding day. You had came out of your cabin to pray to Kam Dev and his wife Rati Devi. I went with Chandok to watch it. I aleady saw you there." Ulupi told her in cold voice.

"Bari ma (big mother), save my father. It was my fault." Babrubahan touched her feet too.

The innocent look at this boy's face melted her motherly heart. She had already lost her only son, Iravan. She was reminded of him. She ran her own fingers through his wavy black hair.

"Son, why you are drenched in blood now? What happened to you?!!" She asked him softly.

Babru never expected this softness from his stepmother. In a mother, this kind of softness was expected but not from a step-mother. He sobbed aloud while clutching her legs. He felt all of a sudden so much flooded in love.

"Son, tell me everything. What had happened??!!" She asked him calmly.

He told her everything not ommiting a single detail. Ulupi closed her eyes too tightly. It was her sin?!! This boy was innocent. This young boy just worked as pawn.

She very slowly whispered in his ears "No son. Dont cry. Its my fault, not yours. Don't blame yourself. You are too naive. You are too innocent. You just caught in a trap of web of lies."

Her strength gave away and she fell down on tje ground with a loud thud sound. Chitra and Babru ran to help her to get up.
