"You what?" Noel exclaimed, dropping her fork on her plate making a clinking noise. People's eyes wonder to our table due to Noel's loud outbursts and I cover my eyes so I wouldn't have to see them.

We were at a crepe place in the city. My classes on Monday were very relaxed. I didn't have to go to class until three and Noel had to be in by twelve. I filled Noel in on the details of my crazy night out Saturday. I finally got to the part where I had a one-night stand.

"Don't look at me like that. You know this isn't my normal character. I... I was drunk," I explained, not quite sure what I was telling her was true.

"But you were attracted to him," she said, cutting another slice of her apple cinnamon crepes.

"Of course I was," I snorted. "You would be too if you saw him."

"I'm actually in a very happy relationship right now, thank you very much."

I rolled my eyes and took a sip from my drink.

"But Reign, spill all the dirty dets!" She exclaimed, wiggling her eyebrows. "How was he?"

"I don't remember much of it!"

"He must've not been that great then," she mentioned while frowning. I laugh at her sudden mood swing.

"I'm pretty sure he was. You have to see him, Noel. I've never been attracted to white men, but oh boy. He was something special."

"Seems like someone has a crush," she teased, pointing her fork at me.

"I would never be in a relationship with him. He made it clear he doesn't do them."

But then again he said he didn't do one-night stands either. Either way I just knew it wouldn't work out between us.

"I want to meet him." She pushed back her plate and took out her phone. She smiled before typing and then looked back up at me. She was probably texting Scott.

"You did get his number, right?" I bit my lip and shook my head. "Reign!"

"I don't know how all this works! I'm just done with relationships. Eventually, I'll find someone. For now I'm just going to go with the flow."

She rolled her eyes while putting money into the check the waiter left out for us. "You're such a psych major."

I ignored her comment and put my half of the money in the bill. "Besides, I told you the last date I was going to go on Saturday and I meant that. Even though I wouldn't count sleeping with a total stranger a date it would have to suffice."

"I still can't believe you slept with someone. Your first one night stand! I'm definitely going to remember this. "

"You and me both," I mumbled. We both got up and walked out of the restaurant. We looked both ways before crossing the street and walking the familiar path back to our campus.

"I'm starting to believe Scott would never propose," Noel finally said, moments later. She tried to keep a neutral face, but I could tell she was genuinely upset.

"Give him time. If it's meant to be then it will."

She sighed and leaned into me for a hug. "I wish I could be so calm and carefree about life like you."

"Noel, you have a life I dream of having; a nice apartment with your loving boyfriend and you're soon going to have a degree you've been working so diligently for. Don't be jealous of my life. You have a perfect life already."

"You're so sweet Reign. I love that you're my best friend."

She pulled me in for another hug, which I return. I gave her a supportive smile and waved her goodbye as she walked into the English building. I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and dialed a familiar number.

"Scott. We're going ring shopping now."
