"With this knowledge, have you reached a conclusion?"
"Yes, I have. I can't stand to see her suffer like this. I've decided to take her off life support."
"Very well then. Here're a couple of papers I need you to sign. After that we'll begin the process," Dr. Johnson said.
"Will... Will it hurt her?" Noel asked suddenly, as I heard footsteps walk out.
"She's gone, Mrs. Richards. She can't feel anything."
I could imagine Noel casting her head down in grief. Before either one of them could say anything else I felt footsteps run into my hospital room.
"Wait!" A heard a female voice weakly croak. "Tobias is awake."

"Fuck, Reign," I heard a familiar voice hiss, Tobias's voice. I felt my heart leap at the sound of his deep, husky voice.
"No, no, no. Baby, I'm so sorry," I heard him sob. I felt his face fold in the crook of my neck. "No, please come back to me."
Tobias, I'm here! I wanted to scream. I'm here, but I don't know how to get out.
I heard some more sobs escaped his lips and I wanted nothing more than to place my hands around him and console him. I wanted to play in his too long brown hair. I wanted to hug him, bring him close in my chest, and hold him the way he loves. I wanted to tell him that I was still here and I'm trying to escape, I just didn't know how.
"You promised you wouldn't leave me. You," he choked, his words jumbling in his throat. "We were supposed to be a family. Did you know we're having a little girl?"
There was a teary laugh. "They told me today, just as I woke up. We're going to have another little Reign running around. But I can't do this without you. You need to fight. Be that strong warrior I know you are. Our story has barely begun; don't leave me now."
There were more sobs that escaped his lips. Now he couldn't control his cries. His whole body was shaking from his tears, my body vibrating with him.
"It wasn't supposed to be you. I was the one that was supposed to die! I don't understand how this any of this happened-"
"Tobias."
Tobias immediately got off my chest. I heard him take a deep breath, sniffing his tears back. I wanted to scold whoever interrupted our moment, but just like before I had no function over my motor or physical skills.
"You should be resting. If the doctors see you here-"
"They'll what Noel? Kick me out? She's my girlfriend and it's my fault she's in here!" He yelled back.
"Hey, don't say that. And calm down, you're going to add strain on your already weakened the heart," Noel consoled.
"I don't care. There's no point in living if I can't be with Reign."
"What about your daughter? Are you going to let her grow up with no family?" Noel angry yelled back.
I felt a shift on my bed and soon I could feel Tobias's head rest on my chest. His breathing was slow and shallow and I knew he needed a heart- fast.
