"Happy Valentine's Day, baby."
I felt Tobias's stubble tickle my cheek as he began to leave small kisses around my ear. Once he reached my neck I felt my body begin to squirm from his touch. I tossed around in bed and saw him grinning at me. He looked young and happy. Oh, boy, did he look good and he was all mine.
He looked like he just woke up; his hair was ruffled messily and his eyes were a bit puffy, adding emphasis on his scars. On top of that his voice sounded huskier than normal, turning me on. It was something about a guy's sleepy voice that always seemed to make my heart go into a frenzy. I smiled up at him as I grabbed his face. Slowly, Tobias knelt down to me and I kissed him long and slow, enjoying his lips on mines.
I didn't see much of him and that was mainly my fault. School started up again. I was busy trying to get all the remaining credits I needed in order to graduate. I didn't want to be like other people who prolonged in getting their degree.
"I missed you," he said, pulling back. "What time did you get home last night?"
I pushed myself up, propping my back against the back of the bedrest. We finally got Tobias's bed into my apartment, very difficulty, and I was more than thrilled. I secretly always loved his bed. It was just so spacious and comfortable.
"Around midnight. My class didn't end until 10:30, but I then I started studying and by the time I needed to get home it was almost 11:40. Thank you for letting me take your car, by the way," I gushed.
Tobias smiled cheekily and shrugged. "No need to thank me."
I rubbed my eyes together, still feeling groggy. I pulled my comforters off of my body and jumped off the bed, but I felt something soft and oddly soothing touch my feet. I glance down and see a pathway of roses scattered across my apartment. I turned my head back to Tobias and saw him just looking at me shyly.
"What's this?" I asked, trying to hide my surprisement, which I failed to do.
"Just follow it," he said, nudging his head out my room. My door was still disabled and was laying limply on the floor. I kept forgetting to tell Tobias to fix it.
I began to follow the pathway of roses. I could smell the fragrance of roses around me. It was hard not to; they were everywhere! I heard Tobias walk closely behind me and my heart started beating quickly as a result. I wasn't the best at surprises... In fact, I hated them. But I loved this surprise.
In my living room, I saw a big wooden crib with plush cream bedding. A small gasp escaped my lips as I stepped closer. We hadn't even begun to talk about the baby's furniture or anything about him or her be honest. It was always on our mind, though, but we never knew how to talk about it because once we did we started thinking about our future we knew we wouldn't have.
"Tobias," I gasped, tears glistening in my eyes. "When did you... How...?"
I couldn't even get my words out. I was in awe. This was coming from a guy who never even talked about having a family and now here he was buying furniture for them. I walked closer to the crib and saw a little teddy bear placed in the corner.
"It was pretty easy actually. You haven't been home, making it easier to hide. I assembled it yesterday actually. It's been in our living room all night," he said, scratching his head.
I almost melted at the sight of how adorable he seemed. Instead, in two long strides I made my way towards him and pulled his shirt down. He looked at me alarmed, but his eyes quickly softened at the sight of me.
"I love you," I simply said, my heart beating quickly. My eyes scanned down to his lips and I saw him do the same. I tried to kiss him, but he pulled back, and I saw a little teasing grin come across his face.
