Billie's POV:

Maddie was tossing and turning last night so I slept horribly, I know she's excited because today is the day that she and Claudia are recording the first episode of their podcast.

I'm happy that she's so excited and I'm glad that she did all of this without the help of Kenzie. Actually, Holden and Finneas were behind it. Holden did the cover art, Finneas gave Claudia the number to a guy at Spotify and pitched the idea, and Finneas also helped build her recording studio.

Maddie got up the second her alarm went off and started her whole morning routine, I just laid there until I had to get up.

I'm honestly nervous today, Finneas and I are pitching Your Power and Happier than Ever to the record label. Yes, they want an album about my ex and how that whole thing played out. I don't want to do that, I really don't. So I decided to take the most traumatizing time of my life and talk about it positively and in a way that shows growth.

I just don't know if the label is going to go for it, the label is a bunch of boomers anyway who don't know a thing about the modern world and how healing is glorified and respected. Why dwell on something so negative if it had a positive outcome?

Maddie walked out of the bathroom as I walked in, she connected her arms around my neck and then kissed me.

Maddie: "Good morning," She smiled at me.

Billie: "Good morning shorty." I kissed the top of her head.

Maddie: "Time for breakfast?"

Billie: "Of course."

Maddie smiled at me and she walked out the door, followed by the dogs.

I took a shower and did my morning routine, I met with Maddie downstairs and we ate together.

Maddie: "How long are you going to be gone today?"

Billie: "12 hours or so."

Maddie: "Why are they working you so hard?"

Billie: "I'm not sure."

I can tell that's not the answer Maddie wanted from me, but I genuinely don't know. I know that they're making me write an album I don't want to write, but why I have to spend 12 hours a day, 5 times a week doing it is beyond me.

Billie: "Is Holden going to be here for the podcast?"

Maddie: "Nah, he has to edit photos for some TikToker but he set everything up a few days ago, so all I need to do is press record I think."

I nodded at her. It's not like Holden to change plans like that.

I heard a key in the front door, so I assumed it was Kenzie but from where I'm sitting, I can see Claudia's car in the driveway.

Maddie: "Oh I gave Claudia a key."

I nodded, I don't mind that at all.

Claudia: "Billie! Ugh, it feels like I haven't seen you in forever." She walked over and hugged me.

Billie: "I know, it feels like I haven't seen anyone." I hugged her back.

Claudia and Maddie start talking about what they're going to talk about on their podcast and I finish eating and wash the few dishes in the sink.
