Billie's POV:

Despite it being Sunday, I do have a quick meeting with the label because I wrote and recorded two songs which means I have two songs to go before the album is finished and completed.

Even thinking about the album being done makes my heart rate accelerate and I have to teach myself how to breathe again. I definitely put my heart and soul into this album, but at the same time, I also lost my muse in the process.

Maddie.

I saw her at a party last night, which wasn't my scene at all and I only went there for her. I just so happened to be at Finneas' house when Maddie and Claudias' manager was over there and I heard about Maddie's plans for the night. I saw an opportunity and I took it.

Which was really ballsy of me to do, not knowing if she was even really there, Maddie doesn't party so it wouldn't have surprised me if she stayed home. Or the fact that she really came out and talked to me.

I had the end goal of spilling my guts to her but Holden walked out, I'm grateful for that in a way because even if I told her everything, what would that do? I still lied to her. Bad. She wouldn't forgive me on the spot, if anything I just think it'll make shit worse.

I went on a limb and asked about Ilo and Milo, Yes they're her dogs, but I miss seeing them when I opened the door every day. She also ended that sentence with 'We all miss you.' If she stayed just a second longer I would've told her that I miss her and I think about her every day.

My meeting is about to end and I'm about to ask a question that's also ballsy.

First, there's the old record head guy who runs this place and a young assistant who also runs this place. He's closer to my age and also happens to be a genuine fan. Not saying I'm going to manipulate him, but he does know my situation.

I wait for the ancient guy to leave before stopping the young guy in his seat. His name is Tom.

Billie: "Heyy Tom."

Tom: "What is it, Billie?" He looks at me a little confused.

Billie: "So you're well aware of the record label making me break up with the love of my life to pretend to date some sleazy rockstar right?"

Tom: "I was there for that meeting yes."

There was a meeting?"

Billie: "Well, you know before the record label completely ruined my life I was actually in a happy relationship, and I was wondering if it's insane if I go see the dogs that she and I got together?"

Tom: "Are you asking my permission?"

Billie: "Definitely not asking your boss now am I?"

Tom: "I guess as long as it's not in public, and you have to be super super super discrete about it. If they find out I approved this or even encouraged this, it's my ass. Please Billie for both of us, be safe."

Billie: "I won't let you down, Tom." I fight the urge to hug him so I just give him a high five instead.

I rush out of the studio and I have Maddie's contact pulled up, I debate calling her, I don't know what she's doing or even if she's awake yet. What if Holden spent the night? I settled on texting her.
