"Alright, who can tell me who Christopher Cross is?" Mr. Schue asked as he wrote the name on the whiteboard.

"He discovered America," Brittany confidently said.

"I thought that was Columbus?" Jayden mumbled confusedly.

"How can a city discover America?" Brittany frowned.

"You two give me a headache," Santana sighed, rubbing her temple.

"Close," said Mr. Schue. "He did write an iconic chart topper called, Sailing."

"I have a bad feeling about this lesson," Kurt mumbled.

"Never heard of him, don't wanna hear about him," Tina grumbled.

"Why can't we sing Disney songs instead?" Jayden pouted as she leaned her head onto Brittany's shoulder.

"Now, some people think of the term 'easy listening' as a bad thing, but I'm gonna let this music speak for itself," Mr. Schue said as he began to pass out sheet music, once again ignoring the disapproving groans of protest from his students. "You guys love Lady Gaga and the Rolling Stones, and you guys are really good at putting it all out there. But really good music can also be controlled and restrained. It doesn't have to attack an audience. It can let them come to you."

"How can you get caught between the moon and New York City?" Finn frowned as he looked at the sheet music. "They're, like, 100 miles apart."

"Mr. Schue, if I may," Kurt spoke up. "I think I speak for all of us when I say that it's not that we don't love the idea of spending a week on this silky smooth adult contemporary, it's just that, as teens, this isn't the easiest music for us to relate to. However, there is a burgeoning Facebook campaign that has swelled to over five members. The ardent demand? That this week, at the fall homecoming assembly, the McKinley High School Glee Club perform a number by, wait for it...Miss Brittany Spears."

"Yo, Spears is fierce, yo," Artie grinned with a wave of his hand as the New Directions piped up with excitement.

"Sorry, no," Mr. Schue shook his head. "No. I don't think she's a very good role model."

"And you are?" Santana scoffed, raising a brow. "You yelled at Jayden and made her cry."

"But, Mr. Schue, we kind of grew up with her," Rachel said in an attempt to convince their teacher.

"She's literally why I wanted to become a performer," Tina added.

"I don't wanna do Britney."

"Why no Britney, Brittsy?" Jayden asked as she turned to the older girl.

"Because my name is also Britney Spears."

"What the hell is she talking about?" Mercedes asked, turning to Kurt beside her.

"My middle name is Susan. My last name is Pierce. That makes me Brittany S. Pierce. Brittany Spierce," the blonde explained. "I've lived my entire life in Britney Spears' shadow, and I will never be as talented or as famous. I hope you'll all respect that I want Glee Club to remain a place where I, Brittany S. Pierce, can escape the torment of Britney Spears."

"Well, there you have it guys," Mr. Schue shrugged. "It's been decided. No Britney. Sorry."

"Thanks, Britt. Thanks a lot," Kurt scoffed.

"Leave Brittany alone," Santana said, sending the brunette boy a glare before placing a comforting hand on her best friend's back.

"Don't listen to him," Jayden said, linking her and Brittany's pinkies together.
