Jayden threw open her bedroom door. She went over to her closet and began throwing all the jackets, lettermans, and hoodies she stole from Santana into a box. She grabbed a box of matches and dragged the box out into the middle of her room.

She struck the match, smoke filling the air from the flame.

"Burn it," Bernadette said harshly, her expression hard. "We don't want anything to do with her."

"Jayden, don't!" Skye cried. "You know you're gonna regret it if you do that!"

"Burn it!"

"Would you both just shut up?!" Jayden screamed, her voice breaking. Tears burned in her eyes, the match shaking in her hands.

The bedroom door opened, and Brittany quickly ran over to her.

"Put the fire down, Guppy," she said gently. She took Jayden's wrist and blew the flame out. She took away the box of matches and set it down on top of her dresser. She wrapped the crying girl into a hug, holding her close as she sobbed into her chest.

"I-I hate her!" Jayden cried, clinging tightly to the fabric of Brittany's uniform.

"I know," Brittany whispered, sighing sadly as she held her girlfriend closer to her. She knew Jayden was hurt – she was, too – but she didn't want her to hate Santana.

Brittany spent the rest of the afternoon holding Jayden while they cried together. They talked for a little bit about how they were feeling, but when she sensed the petite brunette shutting down, she didn't try to force the conversation to continue.

Time passed, and Jayden eventually fell asleep, her arms wrapped around Brittany's shoulders and her head on her chest as she laid on top of her, her cheeks stained with tears.

Jayden stared blankly out the window of a taxi at the passing city. After she had gotten over the initial hurt of the break-up with Santana, the only thing she wanted to do was see her sister, so her dads booked her and Brittany a flight to New York and gave them money to get them through two weeks in the Big Apple.

She knew it was wrong to skip school for no other reason except "I'm going through a break-up and I don't want to go", so she got her assignments in advance from her teachers and would be working on them throughout the time she was gone. She wasn't missing anything important in Glee Club; they were just preparing for a performance of Grease.

"I hope Ollie's okay," Jayden sighed, leaning her head on the window as she continued to stare out at the city. She's never left him alone with her dads for more than a night, and he was so confused when he watched her leave with a packed suitcase. She didn't want him to think that she was leaving him like Santana did.

"He's gonna be fine, Guppy," Brittany reassured her. She linked their pinkies together, squeezing comfortingly.

Their pinkies stayed linked for the remainder of the taxi ride. When they arrived at the apartment where Rachel and Kurt lived, their pinkies only separated for a few moments while they grabbed their bags.

It brought Jayden comfort whenever her small pinky was laced with Brittany's longer one. She loved their height difference; she always felt safe whenever she was wrapped in the taller girl's arms or whenever their hands were locked together like pieces of a puzzle, and she knew that Brittany loved it just as much as she did.

They reached the door to Rachel and Kurt's loft, and before Jayden could knock, the door opened, revealing a teary Quinn, who quickly wiped her face.

"Hey, Quinn," Brittany smiled a little.
