Jayden sat on the couch, her legs curled underneath her. She played with the hoodie string on the sweatshirt that she had "borrowed" from Santana's closet the last time she was over at the Lopez house. She wrapped the rope-like string around her pointer finger and unraveled it before repeating the same actions on her middle finger.

When that got boring, she pulled the hood over her head and laid down in the fetal position, her head landing in Quinn's lap. The blonde looked up from the book she was reading, and she rubbed Jayden's shoulder.

"You alright, bub?"

"No," Jayden mumbled, sighing. "Your girlfriend is pissing me off."

Quinn chuckled and patted Jayden's hoodie-covered head. "I've talked to her about her behavior. She's just caught up in West Side Story auditions."

"She's so annoying," Jayden groaned, bringing her arms up to her face and hiding in the crook of her elbows. "Can I disown her as my sister? I don't want her anymore."

"Better not let her hear you say that," Quinn said, glancing over to where Rachel was sitting at the kitchen table. Her headphones were in, and she was humming along to a song from Wicked as she worked on homework. "Is there anything else that's bothering you? You've been acting differently since the school year started. Quitting Glee Club, ditching class...What's going on?"

"I'm such a screw up," Jayden whispered, shutting her eyes tight to keep from crying. "I don't even see the point anymore. I fucked up my whole future the minute I agreed to meet up with Sam after Santana dumped him for Karofsky."

"You're not a screw up," Quinn sighed. She took Jayden's hand when she noticed her digging her nails into her palm, and she smiled softly when she turned to look at her. "You're human. I'm gonna tell you what I wish someone had told me: You can't let one mistake ruin the rest of your life. In a couple months, that baby is gonna be born, and your body and life will go back to normal."

"But it won't, though." Jayden's blue eyes glistened with tears as she looked up at Quinn. "Teen pregnancy changes everything, you know this. And...And if I keep him, then any dreams I had for my future will have to be pushed aside so that I can raise him."

"You're not gonna be doing this alone, Jayden." Quinn gently brushed some brunette hair out of the younger girl's face. "Whatever you decide, you're gonna have people around to help you. Me, Britt, Santana, Rachel–"

"Rachel doesn't care about me," Jayden whispered, shaking her head.

"She does, even if she doesn't show it," Quinn said softly, wiping away the lone tear that leaked out of Jayden's eye. "Now, here's what's gonna happen." Her voice was slightly more stern, but still gentle. "The self loathing is going to stop. The sooner you forgive yourself, the happier you'll be. No more talks of being a screw up, or not having a future, or anything negative, okay?"

"Okay, Mom," Jayden scoffed with a playful roll of her eyes.

The doorbell rang, and Jayden's mood shifted instantly. She jumped up from the couch and grabbed her small over-the-shoulder bag, double checking that she had her phone before running to answer it.

"Jayden, where are you going?" Rachel asked, looking up from her homework and taking off her headphones.

"Plans with Brittany and Santana," Jayden called over her shoulder. "I'll be back later tonight!"

"But–" Rachel's sentence was cut off as the front door slammed behind her little sister, followed by the click of the lock.

"Stop being a helicopter sister, Rachel," Quinn said, hugging her girlfriend's shoulders from behind. She kissed her cheek. "She's gonna be okay. She's safe with Brittany and Santana. They're not gonna let anything happen to her."
