"Welcome, everyone, to our very first Glee Club rehearsal!"

Four people.

Four.

It was a small start, but at the end of Homecoming Week, four people had joined the New Directions. A boy named Roderick Meeks, a girl named Jane Hayward, and Madison and Mason McCarthy.

"First I would like to welcome back our distinguished alumni who have so graciously agreed to stay an extra week," Rachel said as she looked around at her former classmates. "So, thank you, thank you, thank you."

"I didn't really have a choice." Jade shrugged, chuckling a little. "You would've tied me down if I tried to leave."

"How exactly are you guys doing that?" Jane asked.

"Oh, I can bend time and space with my mind," Brittany said as she ticked Oliver's stomach.

"My momma issa geeenis," Oliver giggled, leaning his head back against Brittany's shoulder so he could smile up at her.

"Okay, so, as you very well have heard, the glee club has a grand and glorious tradition of starting each week with a lesson where we explore every musical genre under the sun," Rachel began.

"But mostly Katy Perry and show tunes," Quinn said.

"I wanna do Disney songs." Jade pouted. "We never did Disney songs."

"Not this week," Kurt said, and Jade crossed her arms, huffing. "Rachel and I are extremely excited to kick off this week's lesson with our–"

"First musical lesson, 'Jagged Little Tapestry'," Rachel interrupted as she motioned to the board.

"Oh, look, finally some songs about Rachel's hair extensions," Santana teased, smirking.

"You can't talk." Jade tugged on Santana's ponytail and exchanged a knowing look with Brittany, who hid her face in Oliver's thick hair to hide her amused smile.

"Now, as you can clearly see, we've combined the titles of there two iconic albums–"

"Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill," Kurt interrupted Rachel.

"Which is celebrating its 20th year anniversary," the diva added.

"And Carole King's Tapestry. That's my favorite."

"So these two iconic albums are sort of like chocolate and peanut butter," Rachel said.

"Or peanut butter and jelly." Kurt shrugged.

"Tall people with little ones." Brittany nudged Jade with her shoulder, and the petite girl blushed.

"Okay, they're both different but amazing," Rachel stated. "You know, you could say they're sort of the Reese's Pieces of music."

"I prefer M&M's," Jade mumbled, shrugging. "They're more colorful."

"Or if you don't like Reese's Pieces, you could name another candy of your choice," Kurt said.

"Is it just me, or am I sensing some seeerious tension between these two?" Leilani whispered to Iris, who nodded her head in agreement.

"Okay, Kurt, why don't you now..."

"W-Well, Carole King's Tapestry is...is...you know, it's easy and informal, like you're getting a cup of coffee with an old friend," Kurt explained.

The McCarthy twins exchanged a smile. "Team Carole," they spoke in unison.

"Good choice." Rachel sent the two a smile. "Okay, and Alanis is different. You know, she's edgy and dark."
