Seb pulled his Ferrari cap on and headed out into the Monte Carlo sunshine. Practice was over for the day, as were his media duties. The debrief with the engineers was due to start in half an hour and he'd decided to make the most of his free time by finding Lily to congratulate her on qualifying in third, and to ask her out for dinner again. Something had definitely changed between them the night before. They'd been so comfortable with each other, and he was fairly confident that he could convince her to give him a chance.
He made his way to the Formula 2 paddock, stopping numerous times to take a quick selfie with fans.
Once there he looked around for the Prema motorhome. Not even half the size of the Formula 1 motorhomes, they were all crammed closely together in a small space.
He recognised one of the upcoming British drivers leaning back against the Carlin motorhome talking to someone, something Norris. Lando, that was it.
Prema was the motorhome furthest away. He strode over. There was a woman sat outside at one of the cheap looking aluminium tables. She was looking at something on her phone while sipping on a latte or something.
"Excuse me," he said. She looked up.
"Sebastian, how can I help you?" she asked, her eyes moving over him as if he was an item on an all you can eat buffet. She was attractive he thought, but she wasn't Lily.
"Is Lily about? I'd like a minute with her if possible."
"I'm not sure if she's still here or not," the brunette replied. "Wait there, I'll go and see." She stood up. Seb gave her long tanned legs an appreciative look. He was only a man after all.
He looked around as he waited, wondering how many of these kids would make it to Formula 1. Would any of them be champions?
Lando Norris was highly regarded, as was Lando's fellow Brit, George Russell, but from what he'd seen Lily outshone them.
He nodded at one of the Prema team members that exited the motorhome.
After a minute, the woman returned. "I'm sorry Sebastian, she's not here. I don't know where she is."
"Oh," he said, disappointedly. "Well, thanks anyway. Can you tell her I was looking for her?"
"Of course."
Feeling a little deflated, he headed back to Ferrari. He'd been looking forward to seeing her again. Still, he had a day off tomorrow. He usually spent Monaco Fridays working, even though he didn't have to, but he decided the next day he would come and watch Lily's race. Maybe he'd be able to catch her after...
Back in the Prema motorhome Lily looked out of the window as Seb walked away. She'd panicked when Maria had come in to tell her that he was looking for her. Liam was here and she didn't want the two of them meeting again, not so soon after their heated confrontation in Barcelona.
She was also afraid of the feelings that Seb was stirring up inside her. It was just best if she avoided him when possible. So she'd told Maria to tell him she wasn't there.
"You alright babe?" Liam asked her. She turned and looked at him, nodding.
"Yeah. I'm great." She pasted a fake smile on her face. What the hell had she been thinking inviting him here? He was fun to be with. He was good looking, and he was a great kisser, but he wanted a lot of attention. She needed to concentrate on the job she was there to do.
