Lily Scott was the bane of Sebastian Vettel's life. The Ice Queen of the paddock had taken his seat, she'd taken his sanity...he was damned if he was going to let her take his heart.
Lily Scott wasn't the person the world thought she was. On t...
"You have to wonder don't you Crofty," Damon Hill said in the commentary box as the cars made their way towards Parc Fermé. "Has Lily Scott lost whatever it was she had that made her special? It would be totally understandable after what she's been through, but what a waste, if that is the case."
"I have to agree with you there Damon, a huge waste. She just hasn't turned up this season has she? Fourth in Bahrain, fourth here in Saudi Arabia. Now fourth is a decent result, don't get me wrong. It's not her actual results, it's her performances. It's the fact that she has bottled easy overtakes. That Aston is a rocket ship. She should be up there fighting Charles, Max and Daniel for wins."
On the pitwall Mike Krack looked at Joel and then shook his head.
"She should have been at least P2," he said. "She started on the front row! The car was perfect. How did she let the Bulls beat her?"
Joel didn't know what to say. He suspected Lily's head just wasn't in it. He understood why, but Formula 1 was a dog eat dog sport. If Lily showed any sign of weakness she could end up losing her seat. He sighed, but didn't reply. Lily would come good, he knew she would. She had to!
In Parc Ferme Seb handed Lily her water bottle. They began to walk side by side back to the garage, Antti following behind them carrying Lily's helmet and HANS. This would be Antti's last race with them. After today Seb was on his own with her. From Australia onwards it would be clear to everyone that Seb was in charge of Lily's training.
"What happened?" he asked as they walked through the Aston Martin garage.
"I finished fourth," Lily replied, her voice betraying no emotion.
"I know that Lily, I mean why?"
"Because Charles, Daniel and Max finished in front of me."
"Stop trying to be a smart arse," he hissed. He got that she was going through some tough shit, but if she wouldn't talk to him he couldn't help her.
He was worried sick about her. Joel was worried. Mike was worried. They'd all noticed she wasn't the Lily they all knew. Mike had even spoken to him about it the other night after dinner when Lily had gone to the ladies room.
"The car is fast. You're not," he said bluntly. "Talk to me Lily. You're fine in practice and quali. It's the races, it's as if..."
"Just shut it," Lily growled, walking faster. Seb sighed. What more could he do? He didn't want to stand by and watch her throw everything away, but until she was ready to open up all he could do was be there ready and waiting to catch her if she fell.

Lily walked into Seb's gym three days later, a towel thrown around her neck and her water bottle in her hand. Seb was already in there waiting for her.
