A/N: Trigger Warning ⚠️ stabbing scene.

"No, Lily, no baby.  Don't do this.  Don't do this to me."  Seb scooped Lily up in his arms.  He could barely breathe, he was panicking so much.  He could barely see through the tears that were streaming from his eyes.   "Lily! Lily, talk to me."

He looked down at her.  Was she breathing?  She couldn't be dead, she couldn't be. They were meant to be spending the rest of their lives together! She couldn't leave him. He'd be nothing without her. He then noticed the blood stained switchblade on the floor nearby. "Lily, please," he sobbed. He knew he had to lay her down but he didn't want to. He wanted to hold her forever, telling her he loved her, but he had to put her down. He had to call for help.

He cursed as he realised his phone was still laid on the passenger seat in the car. He stood up and ran back as fast as he could, not even noticing how sodden his jeans were from the snow and the blood.

He yanked the door open and grabbed his phone and then tapped out the number of the emergency services, his hands shaking uncontrollably as he did so.

"999, which service do you need?"

"Ambulance, police, quick please. Someone has stabbed my girlfriend and her brother!"

The following thirteen minutes were the longest thirteen minutes of Seb's life. Following the operator's instructions, Seb had returned to Lily and Damon, checking both of their pulses. They were both alive, although Damon's pulse in particular was very weak. All Seb wanted to do was to hold Lily, Damon really didn't matter to him, but the human part of him knew he had to do his best for both of them. He was then asked to try and establish where they had been injured.

"I can't see.   There's blood everywhere and it's dark. I only have the moonlight."

His sobs returned and he was vaguely aware of the call handler trying to calm him down. He sank down to his knees again and picked Lily's hand up.  It was freezing! She was freezing. What was he thinking? He had to get a blanket.  He stood up and ran to the house.  The front door was wide open.  He headed for the lounge and grabbed hold of a red tartan fleece blanket that was draped over the back of the sofa.  He noticed there was an untouched cup of tea on the coffee table.  Dashing back outside, he covered Lily up with the blanket.   He felt slightly guilty for not covering Damon, but Lily was his priority.

After what seemed like an eternity, he heard a siren and saw flashing lights coming along the main road. Damn, the car!

He stood again and ran back through the gate, scanned his key fob to open the main gate and jumped into the car.

Starting it, he drove through the gate and parked up to the side, giving the ambulance room to gain access.

He jumped out and ran back to Lily's side.

"It's ok baby, I'm here. I'm here," he said, gripping her hand tightly.

He heard the doors slamming on the ambulance and saw more blue lights passing through the gate as a police car arrived.

"Hello Sir.  I'm Samantha, and this is my colleague, Mark. What's your name? And who do we have here?"

"I'm Sebastian...Seb, he murmured. "This is my girlfriend, Lily, and her brother, Damon."

"Ok Seb, I'm going to have to ask you to move back to give us room."

"I'm not leaving her!"

"Seb, you love her, yes?" He nodded. "Then you need to let me work on her.  Any delay in treatment may prove to be vital."
